@Oldun i didn't even know you could. That is a good idea. Maybe for the next one in the series 😁 the raised profile is the best ive seen on a coin close up. Compared to my usual bullion buys.

I dont think the RM will vacuum pack, but if you do it yourself, you have a fighting chance.

I have a coup,e of the very first 1 ozers. It is quite remarkable how @BackyardBullion has developed from the early days. It would be terrific if one of the sponsors here could stock his products.

I think @BleyerBullion and @EuropeanMint have been as close as we have seen!

My favorite silver is still an on going series from an American Mint called intaglio-mint buying from @SilverStan called 2 oz Silver High Relief Round - Molon Labe. I do love the Spartan movies and that has obviously crossed over to my Silver stack.

The 5th in the series

Yes, I’m clueless about silver pouring but very impressed by how far @BackyardBullion has developed. I was totally gobsmacked when he showcased his silver Mesoamerican step pyramids. I don’t know if it was an original idea of his but there’s definitely a gap in the market for independent silversmiths. I’ve been visiting the British Museum for years and always loved the Easter Island statue on display. No visitor can miss it. However, I’ve never come across any Easter Island souvenirs in the museum gift shop and would love someone to make a silver Easter Island figurine. I think some of the sponsors do stock some of his products if I’m not mistaken.

The Kilo Lib photo was of my 2017 1kg ‘Prooflike’ variety- the tiny 200 mintage 2017 Bu version is this one 😉:

I hadn't realised how much different they are!

It's a lovely pair to own. Are the premiums high on the proof-like?

Yes- they are very different- the 1kg Prooflike is reminiscent of the Reverse Proof Libertads.

In 2017 the Mexican Mint actually issued three different 1kg coins- these two and also a 1kg Aztec High Relief version ((poor)screenshot below), this third 1kg version still eludes me.

As you know the mintage of the Bu was a minuscule 200 (this mintage Replicated in 2019), the Prooflike is 500 and the Aztec 1000.

As with most Libertads, Silver and Gold, and most year dates, Premiums are high due to real or perceived rarity and their consistently low Mintages year in and year out.

I would say the 200 mintage Bu will pay massive dividends down the line. Currently I guess, like any rarity it’ll be worth what it’s worth according to demand and buyers/sellers circumstance and need.

@Roy- I think your 1/10th 2017 Gold Bu Libertad is worth around the same as the 1kg Prooflike 😉

I don't have the tenth, I have the quarter 🙁

How is the kilo BU looking? The pics look good. I haven't seen mine since purchase?

Oh yes, I remember now- I thought there might be a trade in the offing- wishful thinking!

The 1/4 Gold is a rarity.

The Kilo looks spotless and as good as new- from the same source so yours will be wrapped up well like mine. They were a great buy 😉 in hindsight, perhaps I should have clung on to the other two I bought.

I remember we used to joke you had 1% of all production!

I will be holding mine. I just worked out cost per ounce! Cheap silver, once again thanks for the tip off 👍

Love the looks of the tombstone but being in the UK I'd have no choice but to go for the 10oz due to premium and import taxes 😔 but as for my favourite peice I've got that's gotta be a 5oz prey bar

Seen a few 10oz and 5oz over here but no kilo yet
