was out today with me metal detector digging up the normal Victorian and Roman rubbish when out popped this bit of yellow. The hall marks are really worn can anyone help?

Any chance of a close up? Maybe through magnifying glass?

Are there more marks to the left?

Have you tested the metal?

Is it dense?

Is that a lion's head I see - second mark down?

The only real matches I can see for the date mark, if that's what it is, is Edinburgh 1731 or 1932

The one on the right looks like a B?

Hi DrDime yes there is one more mark its a capital P B and small case s in a oval will try and take some better pics in the day light tomorrow in the day light. it weighs 2.98 grams it is gold

the first mark is a crown and the last one on the right is a styalised B or R

The uneven edge would suggest there is some age to it.
