Platinum Coins

One reason why I got the Platinum Britannia this week is because it was a lower mintage than the gold one and the metal was historically more expensive than gold for a long time. It could have a comeback???

It was also a tad cheaper than the gold Brit and much lower mintage than it. So the downside seemed lower to me. My first Platinum coin or bar too!

I’m interested in adding platinum to my gold and silver stack but worried that I would be involved in too much diversification with three precious metals. Another thing which bothers me about platinum is why is it less expensive than the yellow metal when it’s rarer than gold.

I suspect that it has much to do with Platinum being what people call an “industrial” metal.

Whereas gold and silver have historically been monetary metals.
