New canadian coin $50 for $50. Polar Bear.

100,000 mintage. .9999 silver. Doesn't state the weight.

What do you guys think? I'm not a huge fan.

Yes it does - weight is just over half an ounce - 15.87 grams

Looking at the pics I think it is about 1/2oz coin. (15.87g or thereabouts - the pic is blurry)

Bit like Disney dollars - you hand over $50 of real money and get a piece of paper that spends $50 but only in Disney and nowhere else.

I would reckon you would have difficulty trading this coin for $50 of groceries and at $100 for an ounce of silver that seems a rip-off. Keep it !!
