Advice? For buying silver

Looking to buy 1050 oz of silver. Probably 150 oz of bars and the rest is coins and bs commutative coins, aka melt value I believe! I’ve never bought this size of silver and need advice. I have mercury dimes. But what I’m looking for is fair price for the lot

Hi and welcome to Silver Forum.

You have good luck to be wanting silver today, because it is generally on-sale for this weekend. The best advice is to buy for the lowest price per ounce. If you want to pay more than than the lowest price, make sure you are getting something that you value in exchange for the higher price. For example, some people want a government mint to make their coins. In that case, they must usually pay $2 more than spot per ounce to get a government minted coin. Whereas, you can get a privately minted coin for spot + 0.79 per ounce most of the time (generic rounds). If you have no preference, buy the cheapest.

You can get 100 oz bars on sale for spot + 0.50 this weekend at several places. Since you want so much silver in one go, that might be a good idea for some of your big purchase.

Some places offering deals on silver are SD Bullion, BGASC, and JM Bullion. I've not yet checked APMEX today, but they usually have a sale as well.

Good luck, and have fun stacking.

I like everything on the first row (minus trump coin). Should be the SD design (not a huge fan, but cheap), generic, and/or the design of their choice. I really like generic myself though.

I buy from other places to and/or etc and check around to as well.

if you buy a nice chunk this weekend you might be able to find some great deals.
