Having just spent an ungodly sum on a watch today, I think I will be following your advise 😄

Was going through CC relatively painless? I've not submitted for an auction before.

It was my first experience also.

It was painless to be honest, however it takes around a month from sale to actually receiving the funds.

They take a 10% commission from the sale but all in all it’s a smooth process, and 10% is nothing really, after fees taking home £1260 is still a big win and if I’m not mistaken that’s still more than I’ve seen any others sell for.

Maybe offer it on here for £1,260 as the starting bid on your own auction (maybe over weekend). You never know and you might get your money a little quicker too.

What's the feeling what the 2oz gold is worth now?

now a few months have passed since the last one was spotted/sold ?

Has anyone heard or seen any for sale with dealers on their travels around the world ?

The longer one doesn't come to market for sale, that must be a good thing surely ??

I've not seen one anywhere. Until there are more sales I guess about £22,000.

Has anyone actually seen the gold 5oz? It didn't appear on the RM website but was announced in the LG. Someone mentioned that they saw one but I can't see any sale results online.

Thanks for the heads up! Is there a thread somewhere with info on how to do this? Cheers.

Its buried in the 250 page NGC grading thread but PM me with a list of coins you want to consign so i can maintain a master list and then send them to the office address with a note. If you have forgotten the address let me know by PM and I will resend. Seller commission is same 10% and payment will be 30 days after the auction.

I am still following the gold Una, but with the only one spotted in Japan at a "friendly price" (around the 74000£ mark) , I have not seen any other. I hope that most of them are now staying in strong collector's hands, so it could look promising for this coin. No idea what would be the actual price, maybe 22000£ as BrumChris guess. or maybe 40000£ or more, who knows how the demand would react if a Una comes to the market, but my guess is that with rarity, potential sellers could be more demanding on the price. My only guess is the less we see it, the more valuable it will be. With the second coin of the serie coming, it will be interesting to see the market reaction for the Unas, if the second design is  strong, my guess is it will be profitable for both , probably more for the silver Una, not so much for the  gold Una which is already Iconic on its own

This is the silver forum.......... probably nobody willing to pay £500😂😂😂

Exact reason I submitted to the CC, some of the coins for sale on CC go for big money, £1400 on an Una is pocket change to some of them.

Whereas in contrast the forum loves a bargain lol

I think the problem is in our mindset we always have the original cost price in mind.

That is very true. you have to also factor in the point that one of the amazing things about this forum are the vast number of amazing bargains etc. You quickly get used to it and when you see the prices elsewhere the wallet becomes harder to open!

I find it amazing that people I would pay a premium to buy from a bullion dealer opposed to the forum in some cases.

Afternoon Thread

i have two una’s and am a little frustrated ! as the silver ones are doing so well atm and mine have shown spotting very early on

one from RM and the other CC

I had them from the day of release

could anyone kindly let me if I graded them what to expect or would there not even be worth grading ?

thanks in advanced for any help !

first one has spots by una’s head and the lions mouth. back of coin seems perfect

second one has one spot at the bottom by Roman numeral and at the back of una , back of coin seems ok

after looking at the photos on the latop i can see they are in pretty shocking condition ! but still be great if any advice could be given

please don't advise them to be donated to backyard or ace to melted down as I've already considered this lol

I agree with Andrew.

These coins are so popular and great gains can made so investing a few quid in restoration and grading makes sense.

It can't hurt, should it come back a 68 or 69 you'll still do very well. A 70 would be an absolute bonus.

Good luck! 😊

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but if the coin has spotted I think you have had it in terms of grading. I had one that spotted and sent @Numistacker photos, was lucky enough to be able to change it after speaking to Numi and getting his advice. NGC cant remove the milk spots so not much point in really grading IMHO.

I'm sure Numi has done one or two downloads on the Una issues, it might be worth trying to dig them out and see what he has to say.

As for selling it might be worth putting one into auction and see what happens. Either Coin Cabinet or Ebay, be honest and see what happens. The demand is massive and I'm sure you're turn a profit.

This is why I tend to only buy older silver coins as the condition of them has likely stabilised and any handling/ storage issues are apparent. Some of the newer coins from the Royal Mint for example have consistent production issues not related to how you store / handle them e.g. significant toning in exactly the same place on the coin.

thanks for the advice everyone , good to hear mixed opinions .

i agree silversurf as from what ive been seeing that once spotted its pointless grading

but am now thinking to send them to be conserved and graded just so they the best they can be for future reference and hope for the best  (advice from the forum)

am not expecting high grades but its got to be worth a go. worse that can happen they will be sent back without grading

its annoying seeing what these are going for atm and having two in hand, that could be only just better then spot lol !

Put it this way, if i were in the market to buy an Una, I’d buy a graded one.

Too much of a gamble otherwise and you know what you are getting (pretty much). I’d look at the photos of a coin too and maybe compare a 68 to a 69 etc. but the odd spot doesn’t spoil the overall appeal.
