Hello, my name is Chris and I am very excited to be a part of this forum.  I am involved in a new project that I think many of you may find interesting.  It's called "The Silver ExperiMint," and it will be a web series following the day to day operations of the Suns of Liberty Mint.  It will document the entire process of minting fractional silver, the challenges of starting a new mint in todays society, and also a lot of informative segments about silver, melting it and making your own products at home, testing purity and a lot more.

We just posted a short ( 1:30 ) intro to the series, letting people know the history of Suns of Liberty Mint and introducing "Silver Dave" - the man behind the mint, and who the series will largely follow.

If you have any questions about the series or the mint, or you have suggestions for things you'd like to see, we'd love to hear from you!

Without further ado, here is the intro, I hope you like it!

almostbasic, I thought your vid was somewhat subdued and low key.

You might consider putting some more energy into your next effort.

Anyway, for me, there is a little confusion with Chris Duane's Sons of Liberty Academy.

I'll be interested to watch this series - definitely an 'All-American Boy' kind of mint!  Best of luck for it though; let me know if you need anyone to review a sample ounce for you ;)

Thank you for the feedback - we're still trying to get the hang of it all, and feedback is definitely appreciated.

Make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel so you'll see all the episodes.  It's definitely an "All-American Boy" type of situation.  The goal is to really educate the average person on the value of having a real tangible asset, as opposed to littles 1's and 0's on a computer that may or may not be there when you need it most.

I think he was being sarcastic

I thought it was great and pretty creative for the seeming lack of budget.

Its made me interested to know more anyway

Phew, I was going to try pumping Silver Dave (the guy in the video) up with some espresso, but I think he might just totally blow up at that point.  That guy lives for silver - seriously, he is so passionate about what he does that it's truly inspiring.

Gone broke at least 10 times, jeez he must be passionate.

With his bulky physique, and serious amount of minting equipment, Silver Dave's like the Rambo and Fluttershy love child.

Good luck though, interesting take on the world of PMs and look forward to more.

When I read this I thought it was a well financed venture with some very creative 'spam' marketing. We often get new members who join the forum, make a post, and then never post again.

But after watching the video, which is pretty awesome I can see that this is a genuine story and could be very interesting to watch. I look forward to the series and don't forget to post in the forum when the first part is uploaded on YouTube.

Haha, understandable - you see a LOT of that these days  :(

We are (unfortunately) not well funded.  This started with one guy (Silver Dave) in a garage and a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears.  I definitely plan to stick around here, been spending a lot of time reading in fact.

Sarcastic is my middle name. :P  I will link the vid to BrotherJohnF's forum which is based in the US.

It will be difficult to build a brand from small beginnings I reckon.

Thanks, I appreciate the link.  It's definitely not going to be easy, but we're very motivated to make it work.  The key here, is this isn't about getting rich for us - it's about educating the public about silver, and showing people that the markups don't need to be so high.  If a brand new company can step into a centuries old business, with a very limited budget, and start making products with a lower markup over spot than companies that have been doing it for hundreds of years without going bankrupt... then something's wrong with the industry.

Anyways, thanks again, I appreciate the support :)
