a few starting to appear on Ebay in little round capsules with black foam borders. with little square COA's. ;)

But with a starting price of £269, just a tad greedy for my liking.

£260 after fees gets you Spot so thats probably why they are slightly higher maybe

Out of interest, what markups do H&B get with those those overpriced coins? Their profit margins can't be that big, can they, unless they have some sort of 'proof coin wholesalers' where they get these coins cheap. I can't figure out their business model!

I believe they also try and flog stamps as "investments", so the numismatic side is just one part of several within their company?

They tried to sell me a full 42 modern proof Sovereign set for 27k and said if I split it up and sell them separately I could make 40k! I asked the chap why, if that's what they could be worth, they would sell them so cheap, the answer was something like 'we like to treat our customers well'. So I guess they are just kindly philanthropists 🤣

Joking aside, the proofs I knew the value of that I asked about they valued at £400+ over :o

he didn't lie ……… he just didn't say WHEN to sell to get 40k

, at 27k , it isn't a bad price form a dealer

did he say it is yen?😁

Not even Dong - pounds! I could spend £27k and immediately make £40k profit by splitting them up...that means every modern proof Sov (not just the special years) averages at £1.5k.

Aren't they wonderful to their customers to sell us such cheap coins that will make us a fortune, and wasn't I stupid to miss out on the opportunity 🤣 I think they even came with some kind of special case and Harrington & Byrne's own CoA 🤣
