He has a low feedback, isn't that a bid dodgy?

Buyer protection on eBay is pretty solid.  Would have just bid myself but don’t have a sigma to test and would want more than a slide test for that money

Goofbay I meant to say, will snipe at last sec if you didn't know.

Not that I use feebay much at all these days

Time to buy on eBay is after the free selling weekends, when a lot of the coins are at a reasonable price and theres bargains to have.

Makes sense now as I've seen many an auction with zero bids in final minute then boom on final seconds..

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

I've recently been looking for a metal tester. The goldscreen box looks like it should be a good little number at a reasonable price but hard to find. The sigmas are a bit too pricey for someone like me who just picks up the occasional small coin.

Watches and snipes, wins em

My best was getting x100 2007 1oz silver Britannias mentioned on here, and bagged them at £1700 opening bid, as they ended at an odd time around 5-6 years back. My best silver find thus far

My thoughts too, and not that it matters now lol,but I would also have used a credit card ( never recommend) and paid off instantly after testing 😀

Just catching up on this thread. Your point here James being that the credit card gives you the additional purchase insurance in light of there being an issue? And if not, you pay off the balance before incurring any additional interest?

It's piqued my interest as I still get an account statement for a CC I had years ago. I may actually request a new card in light of the above and use it for any future eBay purchases.

All of the above, plus if you've signed up for a rewards-type card, you can get some cash back off a future sale - it doesn't take long to build up, when buying gold!

Correct on both points, as long as you pay off before you're statement bills..its free credit. And extra security ( if you ever had a problem with a company and phone up your card provider, they will put a stop on the payment almost instantly)

Can't stress this point enough - don't get caught out!

I use a Barclay Card with a cash back deal on.  I buy EVERYTHING on it and as soon as the money is on it pay it off by bank transfer

My purchases have free insurance and I get a bit of cashback each month.  And on the off chance I do forget I have a direct debit to pay the monthly balance set for the day after payday

I also use cashback websites whenever I am able to, I use Quidco and TopCashback, adds up over a year

Looks reasonable from a dealer, the others may be competitive (I haven't checked, came across this whilst looking at stuff here).

Tavex still have some very good deals on. There is no bulk discount buy, but the starting point is slightly cheaper than 499 from Chards. After that Chards is cheaper
