A very similar scenario happened to me. I tried to pay and the system crashed, no order shown in my account and no confirmation email, checked my credit card and no payment taken. So I created second account, ordered exactly as before and exactly the same problem.

I checked my credit card this morning and 2 patterns of £299 have been taken! I've logged into my accounts and 1 shows an order complete and the other doesn't. After a call to H and B they say they will refund the extra payment but it's been a complete shambles on their behalf.

Have you checked you bank account to see if its actually been cleared, because that happened to me with silver to go. Paid everything and done the text message verification and then jsut crashed. The money was "out" of my account but hadnt been cleared, phoned up Nationwide and they informed me I had made a payment but its not been accepted, if its not accepted within x amount of days it would go back into my account. Nationwide has an actual balance and available balance which is good to see whether or not payments have gone through. Worth just calling up your bank or seeing your "available balance" if you have that option.

It was a credit card payment and both transactions of £299 has been cleared.

The message to all who have attempted to purchase this and had payment issues is check that your bank and card statements align with the orders on your Harrington and Byrne online account.

Ah, mine are only showing as pending.  Worst case I can pay the credit card company and then claim back, etc.

I am sure they will sort it all out for us.

I don't know why you guys waste your time and energy chasing these kind of deals when a trusted member like @Sparrowlegs4 was offering Gillicks for £310 posted?

£310 - £299 = £11 saved. Count the pennies and the pounds look after themselves! 😃

Trust me, you will gladly pay £11 to be removed from their mailing list!

A saving of 3% is insignificant if you are holding long term, I've seen some of my purchases increase in price by 100%.

Don't stress over the price, just keep buying 👍

I ordered from them twice last year and haven't had so much as an email from them, let alone any letters. 🤔

I get 2 letters a week from H&B trying to flog some overpriced coins. The wife uses the back of the letters to write her shopping list on. We got a whole notepad going of nice quality paper. 😄 then afterwards off to the shredder.

Also worth noting for H&B if you don't want the sale calls...  don't register with your actual number. I couldn't think of any good reason they should have mine when I registered and I remain undisturbed. Only ever give the details you absolutely have to give on any registration form. Use fake details for the rest.

Just an update on this then I am done clogging the thread up.

H&B called me, they have processed the refund and it should be on my CC within the next 3 days and they also posted the coin to me today so I should have it by the end of the week.  Account manager stated he wont pester me, as they are not a bullion dealer, but I am free to call them if and when I want to discuss other coins.

Thus far, I would say that is pretty good service in my books.

you've raised more questions than you've answered i'm afraid 😔😉

they've refunded you and are sending the coin?

it sounds like you managed to humble the account manager, what did you say to him?

Also received my 2021 sovereign from Harrington & Byrne today and I am very pleased. The coin is in great condition and the delivery was very fast. I changed my marketing preferences about a year ago to just emails and I no longer receive post or calls. It was very easy to change the details on my account online. Glad I went for the deal.

I never got calls from them but did get flooded with the postal ‘offers’ at least two a week despite ticking the no marketing preference on the website. Called and emailed asking them to stop, they even tracked me when I moved house and started sending junk there! Only a final written gdpr letter got them to stop. I agree with Roy it’s not worth it for £11. The junk mail wouldn’t be half as bad if it didn’t basically advertise what you’d been buying
