cgs grading lunar horse mule

for those interested,

my lunar horse mules submitted to cgs for grading

returned a cgs 96 or the equivalent of ms69.

almost perfect, so not bad for a modern non proof

royal mint coin(just read about the recent quality

complaints on britannia's).

hopefully it's worth more than the bin price of ~£400+

for the cheapest ebay ms68.

time will tell whether there's a market for these to

make it worth the £13.50 grading cost.

(I can't find the old thread for this)

HH, I have a few Britannia mules and was thinking of grading.

You planning on selling your graded ones? I'd love to see what they go for.

I'm planning on getting an evaluation from londoncoins and

maybe put one up for auction if it makes sense to do so.

(auctions are something like once every 3 months so don't

hold your breath)

as it was, my equivalent coin was on ebay for min price ~£100,

now it's bin price is £100's more, just need to see if it sells for

that price.

britannia mules don't seam to do that well on ebay despite the

lower mintage.

I would have been disappointed if mine graded cgs 95(ms68) or

lower as those are much more common and might not sell for

much more than ungraded coins.

grading really depends on whether or not you are confident that

the coin you own will grade above average. the mintage for lunar

horse mule is 38k, but read that as 38k coins that will grade cgs 92

(ms 67) or better. as they are all relatively new, there are no worn

circulated coins. the only ones that will grade lower are those that

have been in accidents and/or poorly minted coins, and those are

rare. I believe the same to be true for britannia mules.
