That thread is a pretty comprehensive list, but avoid Bullion By Post if you value your personal data.

Really?

Really. They used sales data to produce what they sensationally labelled a "gold hoarding map", which was provided to the Daily Telegraph:

"[Analysis], conducted exclusively for the Telegraph, reveals the secret gold buying habits in the UK. Online gold bullion dealer BullionByPost analysed sales figures to its customers over the last six years to reveal where in the UK the highest average value in gold bullion has been delivered."

Bullion rock look pretty good for a 'UK' site, tube of doubles about £280 inc vat. Not great, but a lot worse out there.

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

Hi,

I know a lot of you guys buy from Germany (e.g. STG), but if custom intercepts your package, is it just 20% tax you will have to pay or will you have to pay custom / admin charges?

I think that there are no customs if your are from the EU. Maybe I'm wrong

Correct, purchases within the EU do not command VAT on entry.

Cheers, so no nasty surprises to worry about when buying silver bullion from Silver To Go? Just choose the coins and add FedEx delivery charges? What about currency exchange charges, i.e. converting pound to euro to pay this German company?

I imagine buying from USA and Australia you would have to pay 20% VAT (but only if customs checks your package?)

Change your purchase price to £ and pay into their UK bank account.  Their € to £ rate is very favourable and very little is lost compared to using a currency broker.

Yes, USA and Australia would incur VAT.
