if and only if you could pick up a bargain , what is worth buying and is collectable/ desireable in pms,

from what im learning  it can all be about        low mintage ,proof,  boxed  certificates, on the slab side  ms 68,69,70

the coins it  seems to be lunar, inc coloured boxed items containing all 10 coins, , rare rounds, some commemorative coins if boxed with a coa,  aviation coins like concorde always seem to fetch high money,  john pinches items,

what is worth focusing on ,   on the e bay to target a bargain    regards

What is collectable depends on where you live, and who you are selling to. Different places in the world have different tastes

But the simple answer is to look at what the professional coin / bullion companies are selling. After all they are not going to sell something that no-one wants.

Don't go there Craig. You are already at a disadvantage buying your silver from the UK. This will only increase your cost per oz, with the potential of a very small return.

Think about why you stack. Are you a collector, or is it as a store of wealth? If you believe the banks will go belly up or some other financial upset, will the buyers for those fancy Concordes still exist?

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

What is worth buying & desirable/collectable is infinitely different to different people . As a collector myself buy what you like and always buy the best example you can find within your budget.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

Its good you are thinking about profit Craig, many don't.  For Gold you could collect coins, at the lowest above spot you can get (apart from if there is a coin you really want), this means you will have mainly Aus Kangeroos, Maples, Philhs, Krugerrands, Sovs, Britannias.

I started out getting 1oz but if I can get fractional at a good price I will buy them. With Gold timing is everything as a small % move can make £30-£50 pound price difference on a 1oz coin.

Silver you will get as many different views as there are members on this forum, I have not got one proof silver (correction one was supplied as  they could not for fill the bullion order me and a couple of other people had made)  coin or a slab coin, I have bought Aus Lunar series coins, but most of my coins are maples Philhs Libertads, britannias.

If I was going to buy a proof set it would be a Britannia Gold set 4 piece.
