SBSS was a joint venture between (And I am no good at remembering names you will have ti google it) I think it was Chris someone and Rob or something. So any way they made the first few coins starting with the Debt and Death, I think it was. They inevitably had a falling out over money, changed mints a few times (Some mints are more valuable than others) and eventually Chris struck out on is own with the Silver Shield rounds. So all the new stuff is now silver shield.

People loved and hated the series in equal measures - even fans of it; they made way too many variations and additions, it got a bit crazy and they lost people who didn't want to ave to buy yet another variation or double obverse, or whatever it was this month.

Still, some fabulous rounds, and very collectable in my opinion, the early SBSS coins go well. Look out for the Muligan mint versions, they are well sought after.

EDIT: Yes some of the rounds are very low mintage. But I think Chris has a really good name and his rounds are respected. I have a Muligan Mint Debt and Death BU/BU, 4000 mintage.

I think this thread has the final mintages for the SBSS stuff, but it mat miss a few variations: http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-49937-sbss-final-mintage.html

In a brilliant demonstration of too much variety:

Debt and Death
    53,427
1.     Hard Strike- (All Arrowheads in detail)     20
2.     Soft Strike – (Shallow strike Arrowheads flat)     100
3.     SBS-s (- the "s" on problems) oiled est?     300
4.     SBS-s (- the "s" on problems) clean est?     560
5.    Regular oiled     3,000
6.     Regular/Proof     41,457
7.     BU both sides Est?     4,000
8.     Wide Reed     3,900

Hi guys I bought the freedom girl proof off this guy, this is what has left for sale

Battle of Little Bighorn £50

Truth Justice Peace £55 (x2)

Bankster #4 £45 (x2)

Enemy Unknown £42

Death of Consumerism £55

AG47 (w/gun case) £75 (1/300) (x2)

Slave Queen half proof £35

I've also attached a photo of the 2012 Debt & Death collection with extra coppers - when that goes on ebay it'll go on for £750, private pp I'd take £550.

Another con artist essentially. Telling people silver is a great way to preserve wealth then charging exorbitant prices for it. In that respect alone SBSS/SS is no better than Karatbars; there's some truth in the sales patter but ultimately they are gouging you on price.

I am not sure on the premium price - I think he sells fairly cheap on release, but his rounds gain premium on secondary market once production stops

I can't agree. His 'patter' may be similar, but basically he is selling good looking rounds which a lot of people still like to collect. And they are no more expensive than comparable rounds from other companies. It is the older more collectable coins that are very expensive, but they are being sold on the second hand market - and their price is a reflection of their rarity and demand for them.

Karatbars is a pyramid scheme as far as I can tell. Just a big con. SBSS are finding their own value in the market as with any other collectable item. The new Silver Shield range has the same problem as the the old SBSS range - way too many releases. You can't keep up with them all. And like I said, not over priced when the latest releases are only about $20 US each.

I'm on this series, but it's not easy to know *exactly* which rounds form part of the "original SBSS" and which ones are "degenerated rounds" made by the other guy who "stole" the dies. Anyone has where to get the oficial list?

Gold is the money of kings; silver is the money of gentlemen; barter is the money of peasants; but debt is the money of slaves.

It should also be remembered that the majority of the detailed designs and clay sculpts for the dies are the work of Heidi Wastweet.

Besides the Debut derived rounds and the signature Freedom Girl, Heidi also had input to the Goldsiver.com Pegasus round as well as a couple of the Provident Metal  Zombuck coins

Working with Gold Seek Mint she has launched a small four round series titled the Latin collection and with ' Veritas Lux Mea' being number in the series.

This is the first series which she will have complete design and artistic control over. Thus with this being a ' first' this might be worth a look at

The way to tell when and where a round was minted is to look on the back. There are various indicators, like the upward facing arrow in the centre. But I can't remember the details. Nor can I find the site where I read about it! If I can dig it out I will post it. I have never found an official list of all the coins, but you can piece one together buy searching forum threads and other web sites. Too many to keep a track of, and I don't want my stack flooded with these. However it is a good sign for my investments. As long as the series stays current more people will come across it and the few early coins I picked up should make a nice premium for me! :)

ETA: Found it: http://imgur.com/a/JYFOI

There is also this list but it is a bit out of date by now.
