Just wondered if anybody had a good way of getting a coin out of  a capsule that is stuck fast The coin itself is not stuck but the capsule is one I've not come across that is screwed down flush.  I can twist it a bit but does not come undone.

I have a capsule that I simply cant open  most of my capsules have a larger ridge  but I have one and when closed shut its almost impossible to see how to open

flat nosed pliers to slowly crack the capsule - then rehouse in a new proper fitting/working capsuledraper-31968-expert-knipex-fully-insulat

A knife or the like surely wont help if it is a screw down case.

I would give it a clean to make sure it is free of any grease or oil from hands and you can grip it properly either with your hands or by wrapping it with something or gripping it gently with gordons pliers.

Hi,

Thanks for all the suggestions for getting the coin out of the capsule. The good news is I've managed to get the coin out by using the point of screw driver to and pressed down on the edge of  the lid where it meets base. Steady pressure and the plastic fractured enough for the lid to come off. No damage to coin and now refitted into new capsule. Turned uut the lid was not screwed down just snapped into place but no way to grip it to open it
