"Jim Rickards Losing His Marbles?"

I don't think he had any to start off with did he?

But hey let the sheep believe it, the price will collapse, there will be a run on selling gold as everyone tries to sell their holdings before then, and we can pick it up at mega cheapo prices, and cash in when 2020 comes and goes, (world didn't end in 2000, or 2012 either).

Just one question for the mighty Rickards. Who is going to tell the Russians, Chinese and Indians to hand over their gold, eh

Not going to happen....

I see nothing in the USA watchdog video on that link which should have caused the backlash.

JR often says that he says what he thinks will happen not what he thinks should happen. I've seen the comments saying that he is calling for SDRs as a reserve. I think he believes the King Dollar system to be the best of options past and present.

I can't make anything of the original link. We are not reading it directly so who knows how it has been spun.

Gold confiscation is definitely a possibility. It's one reason why I'm keen on silver.

That is never ever going to happen. Certainly not in the UK that's for sure.

1. You are never going to get the gold from Asian families, as they will claim it has a religious and cultural element to them. And if that happens then no-one will have to give up their gold.

2. They are not going to raid traveller camps in order to confiscate their gold either.for the same reason as before, plus the aggro of a good punch up as well.

3. Are they going to send people to prison for not handing in their gold. Yeah right. We are brimming at the seams in the prisons at the moment, where are we going to put everyone.

This is not the USA in the 1930's where gold was mostly in coin form, and people did what the government told them to do, because "it's patriotic and the right thing to do". Modern people don''t trust governments, and certainly will never hand over any gold they have. It would be both impractical and impossible for any western government to implement such a policy. And there would be open warfare in Asian countries if any of those governments tried it.

Gold confiscation is a scare story made up by conspiracy theorists with agendas, it's certainly not based in the real world of practicalities.
