went to pick up my 3 rounds this morning at the awful royal mail sorting office in the pitch black , 7 am,

our lass missed the postie as she always does

couldn't help thinking as I drove to work , is it me or does it bring a smile to your face knowing you own silver

what I couldn't help thinking was the thousands of cars in the rush hour , I got to thinking , do these people own silver I wonder ?

its a sort of weird feeling knowing that  if the shtf scenario does happen then maybe  maybe I am picking up a small stack and others may not know about silver , it certainly seems  the masses may not

theres a brilliant you tube clip in the usa where a guy offers a gold 1 oz maple for $50  as hes strapped for cash  no one takes him up on the offer    and another where he offers them the same maple if they can guess within $100 dollars  , again no one has a clue

strange this silver game  its like pocket dynamite , cant explain it  but im gunna keep on up to my next target of 100 oz,

and this is the weird thing  I like gold I do , but it just isn't the same   cant put my finger on it

so I think my ratio will be more like holding 80 % silver 20%gold

You are a deep man Craig :)

I look at a lot of those fancy cars in the rush hour and wonder how much people owe on them.

I would rather be buying silver than paying interest on a loan for the latest model.

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

I don't understand why you keep saying silver will be good in a shtf scenario

All current forms of money go out the window in a shtf scenario

Food, water, fuel & other practical items would be what is traded (or fought over)

If you have a month of supplies to live on you aren't going to trade them for a million silver/gold coins. .

Just to add to that Kman, if people don't know/appreciate/understand the value of precious metals

now, that isn't suddenly going to change overnight should the SHTF.

The best I believe it can be is preservation of some wealth for when that scenario comes to an end

and we recognize whatever the next fiat currency is.

I suppose theres different meanings to the shtf   some talk of overkill  some may think its a way of protecting a bank collapse in terms of stealing your money and locking down the atm,s

im not  in the gang that say the overkill stuff I think its too far fetched , but the banking thing like stopping you take your own cash , that's my take of a shtf nothing more

I never thought I'd say this, but well said Craig.

It's a different way of looking at SHTF. A financial one.

I drive a nice car, with a private plate, and don't owe a bean on either. Some people, as you rightly suggest, are financed to the hilt on both.

In a "proper" SHTF situation, I'd rather have a car full of fuel than some silver coins. Preferably both though.

Stacker since 2013

Agreed.

SHTF for me is a financial reset, which I feel is long overdue. I am not sure what it's exact form will be, but they can't keep all those balls in the air for ever.

Even if Silver was only worth 50% of what it is worth now (which has to be a near worse case scenario) it will have probably done better than any money you have within the banking system.

I have seen that film, old and looks old but its a very disturbing nuclear holocaust film set in a documentary style, Im pretty sure that was banned for a while and then unbanned. Apparently they used to show it in schools and half the class would either pass out or throw up but maybe that's an exaggeration.

My take on this is.

I prepare for the worst and hope I never have to use any of my stores etc in anger. Just for practice out on the moors.

Disease could be the one that eliminates millions of people as to the effect on the financial systems etc I don't know.

War is also a very real possibility.

But a financial system collapse I think it is a mater of when.

.

I believe that the PM's will shine once the financial crisis is over and the new FIAT is agreed. I got into PM's after the Euro crisis I really believed it would collapse but it was given a stave of execution now its the Dollars turn for its head in the guillotine. But who will let it drop!!

I also started keeping cash at home at about the time of the bank crash also and managed several grand in 20`s quite literally under the matress!

then one day I was out with my mother doing some shopping and her cash wasn`t any good! she`d been sitting on £20`s for a lot longer than me and they`de changed the bills some time ago.

this worried me a little so I started reseaching way`s to keep money safe but not have to worry about them changing the notes etc...

cut a long story short, it was PMs that really blew my hair back.

It does it all really, and more :)

Craig12, if it helps at all.

I keep my stack in a Pirate Type treasure chest, (I`ll happily post a pic if you want one), and sometimes when I`m feeling a bit sad or maybe just a bit uncertain, I like to go get it and open it just to "check" that`s all still good :)

and when shopping getting another months supply of water and food, I did get strange looks! (a disturbing amount) .

but in my head I was a Stacker and also suddenly a Prepper too!??

this was an odd feeling indeed!

so I guess yeah, I do get similar feelings to you also :)
