I have just been digging about looking at PM price forecasts retrospectively. This is a fun game. I came across these two from the same publication:

Silver Price Forecast: End-Of-Year rally to start in September.

and

Silver Price Forecast: Metal to gain ground in August.

Another company wrote: Silver Price Forecast - Silver to gain Ground in August on These Factors...

As we know, for both August and September silver made pretty harsh losses. August it dropped from £12.08 to £11.73

By 1st of September it had lost a couple pence more. During September it went from £11.71 to £10.53

In January a company wrote Gold and Silver Will Shine Again in 2014 (It has dropped 95 pence since the 1st of January)

In fact, since the horrific bludgeoning of PM prices in 2014, there seems to be nothing but optimism for prices this year. And as the year goes on and fails to deliver, that optimism seems to just grow! I am reading almost daily about the coming days of $30 silver. And it is always just around the corner.

And it seem people are all too happy to swallow this so called news. More and more and more silver is being sold.

Are we being played?

As a collector it doesn't worry me,in fact it helps pull down the cost of some of the more exotic stuff I buy, but not all unfortunately.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

I am not too fussed to be truthful because I am in it for the long term and hope never to have to sell any of my PM's in my lifetime. Just pass it all down the line.

And should something go bad in the world, then the one thing that will shine is the Gold and silver.

I may not be around to see it but it will be there.

I was explaining this to my wife the other night take any currency and burn it, it is gone. get some gold or silver it will melt but it is still gold or silver just in a different shape but still worth its weight in gold. :D

We cannot get rid of it just change its form.

Just image in 8 billion years time when the earth explodes some lucky git somewhere in the cosmos will get all our gold and silver, and so the cycle begins again mining etc.

Although it is pretty much kept out of the UK media, the EU is still in dire financial straits. So something big will happen, even it is only the ECB starting the printing presses and devaluing the Euro.

This could mean more Europeans wanting PM's. Whatever happens, I would be happy to go even lower over the next few months so I can build my stack.

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

Stock markets have plunged about 8% in the last couple of weeks and Europe is once again looking to hit the headlines due to fiscal difficulties. We are at war in Iraq again and the USA is bombing Syria. We don't hear so much on a daily basis about Ukraine but things are pretty crap there. Ebola is hitting media headlines and as cold weather moves into Germany and central Europe, Putin may shut down gas supplies in retaliation for EU sanctions. It cannot get better than this for metals can it ? Onwards and upwards once the fuse is lit by the big institutions who are keeping the elastic pretty taught and buying the dip.

I'm far from an expert in anything financial

But for gold/silver prices to rocket, don't we need something else to have a massive crash?

Doesn't a bubble need to pop elsewhere to have money rush into precious metal so it becomes a bubble

So if nothing currently is crashing/popping and no fear to increase demand, then there wont be any significant rise?

Plenty of FIZZ in various parts of the world right now so holding one's breath for the bubbles to burst
