euro crisis and silver

looking back at the charts 2008 the silver price seemed to start climbing  at the time of the credit crunch

interesting to note that today there is talk of the eu slipping back into recession and the world stoick markets seem to be falling on fear of this

could this be another silver climb

are severe silver spikes related to eu recessions?

Well it is possible. Silver has been particularly jumpy this last couple of days. I have not had the tools to do real proper analysis but it is possible that they coincide with Germany's announcements of falling output this week, and the BOE announcing no interest rate hikes. Didn't Germany make 2 bad news statement recently? Output down 0.5% and manufacturing down 5% or something like that? Can't remember the details.

If the Euro does fall then investors will want somewhere else for their money, and GBP does not look like a safe haven either, and the US dollar might not be as the FED are still printing cash at a frightening rate. So could PMs be the beneficiary? Hope not. I need the Euro to fall and silver too, so I can get my cash over here, pay for my house cheap, and start buying more silver with the extra dosh I made on the exchange rates! (Amazing how we all get so selfish with world events when there is something in it for us, huh?)
