Limited £2 coin

Recommended Posts

You generally don't see the most recently released two pounds in circulation until the following year and then the mintage is declared some time after.

10000 is the limited mintage in that presentation card. How many will be circulated is anybody's guess.

That's why I still have a lot to learn, I read it as 10k in total rather than in presentation pack

I think that as our coins will be updated with the new iSIS (Integrated Secure Identification Systems) security features from 2017 onwards, starting with the new £1, prices for the rarer 50p's, £1's and £2's in circulation including proof versions will gain value by 2020-2030.

Rarity and design are the reasons why the Kew Gardens 50p are popular amongst collectors. This £2 design does not really appeal to me.

A better punt IMO for the £2 denomination would be the Commonwealth Games, Rio Handover, King James Bible & Mary Rose.

Your bang on the money there......just sold a Mary rose and Rio handover in mint sealed presenation folder for £90 posted

Don't think i'd bother with anything that isn't a precious metal

I bought the deluxe red box proofs in the early 90's at around £20 a go .. and sold them with difficulty last year at £15 a set

You can pick these up as Silver Proof or Piedfort Proof if you're just after PMs.

Which deluxe red box proofs are you speaking of?
