10oz Perth mint coins VS Generic 10oz bars.

Am i missing a trick... why are 10oz perth mint coins cheaper than a generic bar.

£141.63 from Aurinum including shipping to UK

Atkinsons bullion 10 ounce bars £±132 before VAT and £±159 after

Even removing VAT the savings any plus or -9 pounds to have a minted coin?

What do you guys think?

Maybe it comes down to availability of bars compared to coins? If there are more 10oz coins being produced each year compared to bars (I don't have figures but would interested if someone did?) a lack of inventory would lead to higher prices. The EU VAT saving on coins compared to bars makes up a big difference in the pricing too.

I agree that if you were looking to buy a 10oz piece for lowest cost, then you'd undoubtedly be buying the Perth mint coins from an EU supplier. And you'd be getting a better quality product to boot. The bars however, attract a lot of interest with stackers and investors (less so in the UK). I must admit, there's something really satisfying about holding a heavy silver bar. I only have the Sunshine Mint 10oz bars but would quite like some old poured bars (engelhard etc) - there's just not a lot floating around the UK
