STG shipping and handling ?

Hi guys can someone who has recently brought through STG have a look at what their shipping and handling fee was, I've just got the invoice e-mail and the total price has jumped by £14 had a look to try and find out where this has come from and the shipping & handling is saying £27.95 and this is for 30 oz??? looks like the shipping might have been added twice, think I will need to send them an e-mail :(

Im sending it to a different address to the billing address so I don't know if that makes a difference, but I've e-mailed them so hopefully it will get sorted,

Repeat your order on their website ensuring you enter your postcode etc, you will get the exact UPS shipping charge.

You don't have to order, just build your basket.

Yeah I ordered a similar amount a couple of weeks ago and it was half the price so looks like 

shipping costs have been added twice.  They do have a UK based telephone number and man

the phones shortly after 8am our time.

Had same thing. STG are upping there shipping as there shipping calculator has been undercharging. I emailed Livia about the changes and checked the UPS price to send to me. UPS say €63 when STG website was charging £14.71. Now I will be £50 up to 225 Oz, which is ok but Livia will hold several orders until I have enough to justify postage.

Sorry, to clarify, are you saying minimum postage will be £50 in future for anything from 100 to 225 OZ?

Currently stacking 1/4 oz (22ct) and Sovs.

I've just done an order right up to accepting t/c and the shipping is £14.02 for 40 ounces

 

Surely once you click to say you can't cancel and the contract is set ..they can't add extra shipping afterwards?

just got off the phone with them after they Claimed to have tried a delivery here, I`v been right there by the window with the laptop all day today waiting for it arrive, esp as they failed to delivery yesterday when they should have, No Such effort was made!

I despise Lies!!!! :(

Maybe you had the call of nature and missed the doorbell - maybe your doorbell isn't working ?

Pretty pathetic UPS - luckily they are brill here and my STG package just arrived as predicted today.

Our UPS delivery folks are 100% reliable.

Tamworth person needs a private word in his/ her ear !!

UPS are not the best thats for sure. Waiting for silver to arrive is the worst thing with this investment and some delivery firms do not help keeping you calm. But that said, they are not bad here either.

doorbell`s fine, and you couldn`t miss it, even in the back garden with the door shut you can hear it (it`s the old proper Bell type), I also had one of my girlfriends around at the time too, And there was no note saying they had been there and tried (I was asked that on the phone too).

it was either a complete fabrication or they had the wrong address (which is even more alarming!).

 

it`s only 25 XAG sure, but I`m not going to kid myself into thinking they don`t know whats in it!

after talking on the phone to STG its sounds like simon13 is right and there having some technical problems with the shipping calculator that is undercharging.

Just this minute had a phone call back from them saying they can`t deliver today either!

I`v told them it Must be here before 9am in the morning, as 3 days off work I can`t afford.

 

I think if comes after 9am then I think I`ll inform STG to get my money back for me, this is just ridiculous! :(

I always have stuff delivered to my work as I am rarely at home and i'm happy for my receptionists to sign for it.

If it's not too far away it may be worth collecting yourself from the local depot, they should do that

for you so long as you can provide proof of identity and address;  Not that I think you should have

to but it may avoid the stress of waiting again.  :wacko:

Hello everybody!

 

Please stop panicking and spreading rumors ;)

 

1. It is not possible to compare your shipping prices (at least not accurately), as shipping costs are calculated basically on the three factors of weight, number of parcels, destination. It can happen, that we have to pack one order in several parcels as they might be to heavy to carry otherwise (especially with silver, more than one monster box doesn't work). Besides we don't pack more than a certain value per parcel, to 'spread' the risk, just for the case that something get's lost or stolen.

Destination: This is the tricky part. UPS calculates upon their routes - routes that are covered frequently are cheaper than routes, that have a lower coverage. If you are unlucky, living in a pretty place called middle of nowhere, this might push your shipping costs.

 

2. Shipping prices for resellers and private customers differ a little bit, please be aware before comparing your shipping prices with our fellows here in the forum.

 

3. In the past we have subsidized a lot of the shipping. However, we have realised that margins are too small to continue this. This has not affected all of the shipments, but many and especially those to more 'exotic' locations & to the middle of nowhere within UK, NL, GER and also those, that were quite heavy. We are currently working at full speed to fix the calculations of the back-end system and your front-end calculator in a way, that we cover our actual costs without charging you too much. This has caused some problems in the last couple of days, where we had to fix the shipping costs manually, as the system didn't know better (yet). This was also the case with alec86's order.

 

Please be patient with us these days: We are doing our best to find a solution as soon as possible. We are not looking to 'generally rise shipping costs for a certain weight at a certain rate', we are only looking to cover the costs we have in order to deliver to your doorstep.

 

Considering UPS: Yes, at some places the deliverers are not as good as in other places. They are human in the end! If it comes to numbers I can say, that we are shipping thousands of parcels each month (also with CoinInvest.com) and the percentage of UPS inconvenience is VERY low. In case you experience problems with UPS in any way, please inform us so that we can help with the communication, follow up and complaint management.
