Silver Britannia Vs Silver uk lunar Series

I myself don't even have 1 Britannia myself Shame on me i know haha

But with the decision to get a limited lunar horse or sheep for less than 50pish more each i just cant seem to get exited about the Britannia

That said i do love the coin and some of the older stuff is really nice

Personally i think it would be better to have 100 lunar coins whcih are limited to 300k over 100 Britannia coins which has no real limit at all

Any thoughts would be great to read your thought on it :]

I like both britannias and uk lunar coins and have quite a few of both, but yeah for me the best bet are the lunars, especially the horses which are the first of the series and I have a feeling the end mintage will be lower that the 300,000 max, it should be interesting to see what their selling for once the bullion dealers have sold out, I'm calling for £30 plus on ebay next year.

Unfortunately the britannias are staying with the same design year on year for the foreseeable future so the premiums wont be so high, lunars all the way!

I did read somewhere the bullion grade coin for the sheep mintage numbers haven't been announced i guess they are waiting to see what the demand was like for the horse then may put it down based on demand would be nice if they just did 150k a year for 12 years would but hay no money in it for them i suppose

I would've though they'd stick with the same maximum mintage for the whole series but who knows, I'm sure the royal mint would like to say they sold out, i think the series will pick up speed and over the years adopt more collectors, you never know the horse may end up having the smallest mintage of the whole series.

I've seen sonewhere but can't rennet where that mintage is 188888 for the sheep

interesting

Some of these mintage figures are silly i think i cold do a much better job and iv only been in PM for a year or so lol

The whole idea is about making a sought after coin/collection with a great idea and design behind it fact is they could make 1-2 million but the perth stuff was low low mintage at the start
