GEM UNCIRCULATED

Anyone here that know what grade this is?

Seen it on a few graded coins lately?

Any ideas?

It's just another term used by dealers to rip off punters by taking more of their hard earned cash, it is interchangable with Brilliant Uncirculated, and means the exactly the same.

As with all grading systems it is totally subjective and one mans BU or GU is another mans "that's a nice looking coin, hardly a mark on it, I'll chuck it in the coin  jar"

Well the wedge-tailed eagle bullion coin is available in 69, 70 or GEM grades, so it's a fair bet that 'GEM' means too crap to be a 69 or 70...

I read somewhere if a coin doesn't make a 65 minimum it is classed as GEM. So you are probably right.
