Hi, when you receive your coins do you check them to see if they are authentic? I have three gold pandas that came wrapped in the original plastic from the mint and I don't know what to do... I ve purchased them from aurinum... do you rely on the vendor reputation or what? Sometimes I think... imagine if half of my stack is fake!!!! Im the only paranoic here? hahahha

Hi RBG. Personally, I don't check coins from legitimate companies.

I check any personal and eBay transactions.

If it's a coin well renown for being faked, I will check them regardless. I checked all my pandas for instance.

Every now and then, I'll check the entire collection, probably once a year.

It's highly unlikely, although not unheard of, that you would get fakes from a reputable company. Most coins will be straight from monster boxes.

Be careful if they are selling used / second hand coins though as they may not check them as they should.

Stacker since 2013

If it is new and from a reputable seller like Aurinum.de I would leave it wrapped.

If however it looks secondhand I would discard the wrap and check it thoroughly.

If bought on eBay or from an unknown source then always check gold 100%.

Having a coin sealed or unsealed will make no difference in price when / if you sell as daily fluctuations in gold will far outweigh anything else.
