So iam supposed to be a purely bullion investor, but you guys have got me hooked and starting to look at other things(thanks for that).I quite like the look of these but i have two concerns about buying them.(1)Would i have to pay vat or any other charges when they came in to the country.(2)Would the police turn up with the postman, even though there not real they do look a bit suspicious, especially if you bought a box of ten.

I like the idea of them because they look nice, but in the 1oz size they just don't seem very good value. And unless Klacey is out of stock, shipping them in from Aus would be a last resort.

SS, in answer to your previous question, yes you will probably be charged VAT plus £8 on delivery.

And no, the police won't be interested.

Thanks Danny, i was only kidding about the police, although it would be quite funny if they did come. But as far as Vat goes it would make them a bit too expensive i think. Would be nice to get one if i could buy from the uk.

Klacey is ordering from Aus very soon, see his thread, his supplier may have them and be able to add them to his order.

Wouldn't hurt to ask mate.

I ordered some of these in the past and customs rejected the package without giving me a reason.

Just from memory they were a New West Territory mint product from somewhere in the USA and i would be interested in a couple of ozs if the price was right.

Thanks Danny, but even though i would buy one if they were easy to get hold of it is no great loss if i don't get one either. But thanks all the same.

The thought crossed my mind that some jobsworth customs officer might decide to be awkward about these. As i said above i cannot be bothered getting one if it means a lot of hassle, they would be fun to own but not that important.

I've looked into getting them, but the risk of being screwed with and the cost of bringing them in was enough for me to not bother with.

Shame really, I'd like a silver .50, that'd be cool!

I could look into this if you like and contact my supplier about any issues with customs etc. Be happy to order some.

Thanks KLACY,but as i mentioned earlier i really am not that bothered if i do not get one of these, it is something i would buy for a bit of fun but do not want to go to any truble to get one. I am supposed to be collecting purely on a bullion basis and trying hard not to get into the collecting side. I really do not want to start getting too attached to anything. But thank you for the kind offer.

It's no bother to me as I'm placing an order anyway. So be more then happy to buy them. If you change your mind let me know mate

Along with other bullion/coinage i presented some of these at Logan airport as part of my carry on luggage and eventually had these permitted on the plane.

They did not outright refuse, but fortunately I had the bill of sale from NWTM ( whom they rang) as well as taking them away for something akin to a MRI scan. They seemed more concerned that the bullion did not constitute currency and thus a ceiling on how much could be exported

The real question and what no one seems to want to ask is

do they stop werewolf's ?

I guess it's all down to how hard you throw them.
