Question About This Forum, Countries and Silver in General

So I take it that the majority here is from Europe? So my question is, If I ask a question about for example, "What do you think about the Four Horsemen rounds?" Would you guys and gals from Europe, Asia, etc know about that particular series? Does Provident sell to the UK? Is that a normal thing to do, buy silver from a vendor from a different country other than yours? As far as internet vendors are concerned all over the world, are most of the silver available for everyone in the modern world or there are things that you (Europe or wherever) or I (USA) cannot get? I'm not talking about the guy that pours his silver bars in his garage and sells them, but the big stores like JM, SD, APMEX, etc.(BTW, I have some questions).

Yeh i think even though most live in Europe we still watch American youtubers and stuff to. I have heard of the series your talking about. I'm sure being from the UK i could buy from apmex but when you add delivery and tax i don't think it is worth it but i'm not sure if i can buy from other american places usually not worth it tho. I think if you want a coin bad enough you might pay all the fees to get it but i think most of us from UK order our silver from the rest of Europe because there isn't 20% VAT added to it.

I have noticed that there are some people from the states here. I watch what's going on overseas as well as what's new here. Europe has some great silver offerings, the Pamp Suisse kilo bars, Baird and Co. bars are some of my favorite. The Britannia coins are at the top of my list as well. Silver speak is international!

Provident does not ship to the UK so their stuff is fairly rare here.  There are also various taxes if shipping goods in from outside the EU.  Silver carries a horrible 20% VAT in the UK which makes me really jealous when I see such amazing deals close to spot that the US dealers are able to offer.

Most of the members of this forum are from the UK but there are quite a few from other parts of Europe. There is a US/Canadian selling section and a few active members from North America .

Quite a few of the US dealers do not ship outside the US. Shipping can be quite expensive and as mentioned silver is heavily taxed when it comes into the EU. For these reasons European members tend to buy from German dealers and a particular Belgium dealer as coins can be purchased which are less heavily taxed. Silver bars and rounds, excepting coin bars, are taxed at the standard rates which makes them relatively more expensive. For this reason members tend to focus on coins more than bars and rounds, so I suspect the topics of conversation are a little different to that which you might find on a US focused forum. You will find there is a some knowledgeable members here particularly when it comes to gold Sovereign. Members tend to be interested in both the precious metal content and the collector value of their coins.

I'm collecting the Four Horsemen series, Silverstan who is on here was the cheapest I could find for the silver rounds in the UK but they go fast and once they are out of stock thats it.   You look on the Provident website and see the copper ones for 90 cents and we can't get them for less than £7, it's ridiculous.   The only other place in the UK I've seen selling the silver rounds is Silvertrader. I'm jealous of what the guys in the US can get just about everything silver for, even our Royal Mint looks after them better than they do us, they get it first and they get it cheaper.

I know Lee is taking pre orders for the latest coin the Horseman of Famine.  I've already ordered my one.

Ok I got it. That VAT is a SOB. 20% on top is insane. For someone like me just starting out, even when Most of the online sellers have their sites well laid out, is very confusing as to what is a round, bullion, coin, semi numismatic, junk silver, etc. I have it almost all deciphered I think. Probably not. Just as a FYI, I bought those cheap thin cotton precious metal gloves from Amazon before getting my first ounce of silver. Yea I”m that kinda guy.
