Being fond of legend and as it's start of the series, "had" to buy them still not sure about the design, and RM bullion quality makes some funny things, like "additional eyes" for Robin on one of the silver coins :)))

Received similar today, except I got the Robin Hood silver.

Pretty disappointed with the sovereign to be honest, kinda wish I'd gone for a fractional Brittannia.  If it hadn't come from the Mint I'd have been wondering if it was genuine - the detailing of the George & Dragon is rubbish.  It's the first one I've ever seen, can't see the appeal at all.

I know in terms of bullion it doesn't matter much but I want to like my gold - I'm planning to keep it for a long time.

Really happy with the Robin Hood silver though, tempted to get the gold version.

I was happy with it until my missus said it looked like copper. I've ordered another now just one of the random dates. Think I'm going to keep going until i balance my stack out a bit. 

I've never really been one for gold. Since joining the forum I've got the bug a bit. When I was looking for my first piece I was looking at the half ounces. Seemed to be sold out everywhere.

Yup, that's my impression too - not 'gold' enough for my taste.  The more vintage ones I suppose have a more lived in look to them which give them a certain appeal.  Doubt I'll be buying any more though, they just don't do it for me.

Received my 2021 year of the ox Royal Australian mint coin. Scratches on the rat coin are on the capsule not the coin.

Put it next to my rat coin and realised they have shifted the design above queenie so that the ox is over her head this time

They finally arrived. My first batch of Una and the lion bars. Fantastic design for a bullion bar, hope it will become a huge series in the next years, can't wait for the 3G bars.

And finally my 2 OZ 3G arrived. Small, but mine. 

I love days like today. I've watched for weeks people getting their coins and every day it was harder to wait.

This coin will be for sure in my 2021 top5 list, really great design on both sides. Seems this time APMEX and the NZMINT put some extra work on quality. Can't see much difference between BU and proof. Just on the frosted parts the proof one looks "cleaner" minted. But some of the BU just looks same as the proof. Really lovely coin

Today I received the third coin in the black flag series which I didn’t want as the thought the design was awful compared to the original two in the series, but in the end I felt obligated to get it. Now it’s in my hand I have to say I’m glad I changed my mind it is growing on me 😆

Two lovely Maundy Sets and a part Set arrived today- more to follow this week. 
Maundy Money alongside the Sovereign are the only Milled British coins that have endured for the last 200 years or so and continue to be issued today; albeit the Sovereign has missed several years.

Some interesting nuances with these year dates- the 1817 Pistrucci designed George III coin bears the date on the Obverse whereas, a standard for Mandy was established from 1822 in terms of size & weight.  Interestingly, you can see on the 1822 3d coin, the Mint used the same punch they used on the Portrait of the 2d.  Previous to 1822, Maundy Money was made up of circulation coinage.  

The 1822 George IV Reverse designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen has endured to date, excepting one change to the design of the Crown of the Reverse, the change made in 1888 by William Wyon.
