Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Oh that must be the mythical beast known as the Congress that actually produces a balanced budget, reduces debt, abides by the Constitution, and does the work of the people!

I've only heard of this thing in faint whispers, and in accounts of dreams long forgotten.

Nothing special in the least, but how would this have happened? A crack in the die would be raised wouldn't it, Ideas?

There could have been a bit of metal swarf that got in the way when it was being pressed if there was a quality control issue at the time. Any marks on the other side?

If swarf was trapped there wouldn't be the detail of the crown ..... would there?. The swarf would mask the die and the line would show blank...maybe a bit of swarf in the blank..... or is that what you meant ..🤔

This beautiful coin arrived from America

Maybe the person encapsulating thought the shield was so nice, it should be upright... I had coins in NGC slabs moving during transport (usually soft 24K gold so i guess they are a bit less firmly gripped) but a sovereign spec coin shouldn’t move, hopefully 🙄
