Today I received an early Christmas Present with the help of @Lr103

some additions to the World War I Collection and a few bits from South America. 

I particularily like this ‘struck trough’ coin where you can still make out the fibres of the material that got wedged in.

My last purchase of the year from a local shop in the city near me. A lovely Swiss 20 Franc from 1947.
This will be my last buy in a while. I will be moving to another part of town early 2020.

1862 "US Civil War" gold dollar. Tiny coin, 15mm and 1.67g. Fascinating time in US history, mid 1800's, and nice to own a little part of it....

Honestly The East India Company does some nice coins. This “Shield Sov” is stunning, and the little details like the small George and Dragon by the date is awesome.

Seven new additions for my 1967 collection from US, with the priceless help of @augur and @Lr103. Was thinking to expand including nice copper coins, with RD designation only. The two British ones look quite nice from up close, despite the not so high grade. Can't say the same for the brass coin, it looked much better in the pictures, not sure if I'll get more.

There could have been a bit of metal swarf that got in the way when it was being pressed if there was a quality control issue at the time. Any marks on the other side?

If swarf was trapped there wouldn't be the detail of the crown ..... would there?. The swarf would mask the die and the line would show blank...maybe a bit of swarf in the blank..... or is that what you meant ..🤔

Three out of three from NGC (via Numi)...Huge relief! Nicely aligned in their slabs unlike another recent acquisition...

This beautiful coin arrived from America not long ago, It will have to go to NGC as I can’t live with the annoying alignment!

It was encapsulated several years ago apparently, so I am guessing this doesn’t / shouldn’t happen now!

If it cross grades the same,  it will be the second highest in the NGC registry, so well worth the effort and cost.

Maybe the person encapsulating thought the shield was so nice, it should be upright... I had coins in NGC slabs moving during transport (usually soft 24K gold so i guess they are a bit less firmly gripped) but a sovereign spec coin shouldn’t move, hopefully 🙄

I had silver coins coming with bad alignment and it was probably due to transport (and loose grip...?), as I checked their original NGC photos and they were OK.
