Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

There were 5 Philharmonic. And some silver bars. And to make the order even the 4 1/20 oz Pandas and the 1/4 oz Maple and the silver were thrown in at spot. Even with magnifier, you can barely read the Pandas. I think I'm going to trade those for a 1/4 oz coin LOL. I like this design on silver bars. Silvertown makes them.

I would take those pandas off you in a jiffy lol. They look like they are the older ones

The Maple 1/4 oz is 1986.

Philharmonics are from 2005

Pandas: 1987 {S}, 1988, 1989, and 1988. The 88's look a bit different on the Panda side; the background is intentionally made sort of dull or burnished-looking. You need to be a fan and have good eyes to love them!

Cheers :) I am certainly a fan of mini pandas.

Careful using insurance appraisals as a guide to value.

That said, I don't think you'll have gone wrong at 40oz of silver for that one! 👍

I only use appraisals at a guide to what it's made of, had it double checked and it's all good on the quality with over 4ct of supurb saphires, 0.91 tcw of VVS h diamonds and 12.75g of 18k plumb.

Usual rule is whatever the appraisal says then your realistic value is about one third, as retail is double private value and preowned is about one third of retail..so think max of $3,500 but that was back in 2002 i believe...when gold was $400/oz.
