What a great looking coin. The lace details are impressive on this portrait. Lovely images as well, do you use a smartphone or ......?

Samsung Note 10.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

1887 Jubilee Head Victoria Sovereign

This is in quite good condition - a solid EF at least, with the original mint finish visible on a large portion of its surface.  I've included pictures taken with exaggerated contrast and a little 4" ring light I also got today that show the extent of the original finish surviving.

The 1894 looks in fairly good nick.  What are the obverses like?

Higher grade than you might think.  Some handling marks; but only minor wear on the surface.  The 1894 would probably grade something like aboutEF.

I used to have a pair of 1877s.  Nice to see you enjoying yours.

Yes sir and thanks for the G&D. I even picked up a 77 half shield to go with these two 👍🏼

I've still got one 1877.  At the moment no dups or multiple mints, although I suppose at some point I'll have enough sovs to start accumulating like that.
