Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Another very good acquisitions, beautiful and very elegant french coins.

Unfortunately, my camera should be changed.😁 So, I have added few pictures made by seller (shame on me!).

I picked up my monthly sovereign last weekend and gave it the usual size and weight checks. I don't expect any surprises from the retailer, I just like getting the toys out and having a play before it goes to the deposit centre.

Get one layer of clear tape around the ends of your calipers...Will protect from scratches to the coins ( don't ask me how I know)

Thanks James, great tip. I've been careful but can imagine one slip and the coin's defaced. I know it shouldn't really matter with it being bullion but I like to keep my sovs as pristine as possible, esp' with it being the Jubilee year.

Once you put a big scratch down lizzys face "it matters" lol. Only explanation I can give is when it happened to me,the coin must have mistaken the callipers for a crocodile or something, and decided to jump to safety 😃

I bet that hurt 😕 Not as though you can buff it out either and give it a bit of a wax. Hope it was bullion and not one of those proofs.

No, he just reclassified the coin as Elizabeth II (7th Portrait - Scarface Edition), and is now marking it up as more collectible 😄
