Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

Got a new addition to my conservation kit today! A heated ultrasonic tank there’s a few steps to the process the results are impressive, and it will not effect grading.

I’ve taken some close ups at the legends so you can see the surface build up.

These have not been polished so not trying to trigger anyones OCD and can’t stress enough it does not effect grading.

How much would one of these tanks remove? Can you leave a coin in too long?

@Petra The tank is one part of the process, you can't leave it in to long providing you are not using to harsh a chemical in the tank, however the next chemical step you can do it for too long and dull the coin, this can be  very evident on proof coins.   But you don't use a tank for proof coins.    The tanks will remove almost all of the surface build up won't remove all of the oxidation.

Would that sort of thing count as a minting error? They are pretty tiny after all!

No error, just a standard bullion 1/4 from The London Mint Office, I just added the bullion in after in the wrong place, hope they make a 1 Sov version its a nice design just hard to see

It doesn't look very centrally struck, is what I meant.
