Recently came across this piece below, As a lover of all History & Geography this piece was a must for me..... I’ve seen many Tombstone associated bars & coins over the years, But none have tickled my fancy until I found this gem.

This has been in it’s original sleeve for many moons, Until today when I photographed it. You can see the natural patina build up around the inner flap sits on the bar which I think looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥

I knew it was rare but even the big dogs in the states have confirmed this is a super rare specimen.

Who on earth thought that would be a good idea to put on a bar?! Imagine one of the designers at the Royal Mint suggesting that these days and the Queen having to sign off on it

Hey you I have had my fair share of excitement and shock, me an the missus were abducted by aliens once, they said to me we are going to insert a large probe up you and release you unharmed, as I parted my cheeks I said good luck with the missus I failed in that dept for the last 10 years.

My second PCGS submission returned today. In general satisfied with the results, although I couldn't avoid one Details grade again. 🤔

A little curious about the French "CAISSE D'EPARGNE" medal, which was put in a large slab, without me asking for it. It is 45mm, so not sure if it was a mistake or didn't marginally fit in a normal slab.

Another issue is that they didn't grade some US medals, which I believe NGC will not have a problem to. But they graded all European medals, even some pretty unusual ones. Maybe it has something to do with the grading taking place in Europe instead of US (I use PCGS Europe). My plan is to be sending them all European medals in the future and anything oversized of course, I like these mid size slabs.

definitely last coin of the year had a tough 203 years but I like the circulated coins 1 because I can afford them and 2 cause it supprises me how they survive so well being so soft

2012 arrived today to complete my PF70 UC special reverses double sovereign set. Now to negotiate the minefield of trying to get the PCGS ones crossed over To NGC 🤯.

After no less than 12 days (first class) sitting at the bottom of a massive pile of post the final part of my great Xmas prize arrived from @dicker. Never ever seen one before and after a quick bit of investigation its a Silver Jubilee silver proof issue weighing 28g. Great little add on to my main prize and @dickeris a top man to deal with.

Which was better NGC or PCGS? I can only assume NGC given you are looking to change across to them.

Just in time for New Year's Eve, South Africa Big 5 number 4 and a tube of 2021 Britannias (which manage to take on an interesting purple colour in photos from quite a few angles) have made it from the EuropeanMint. 
Will probably be over paying for Big 5 number 5 when it comes out...

@Silverman2U There’s no guarantee that they will crossover at that grade and could come back in the same holders losing the grading fee in the process.

I didn’t grade them, I bought them graded. Going to change them for the simple reason that i really dislike the PCGS holders.
