Today I Received.....

Recieved almost a 150oz of silver last week. The bars were a gift from my mother, for the future wealth for me and my children. 

2 kilo’s of fat umicore bars, 1 kilo Argor bar, 10oz 2005 Kookaburra with a mintage of 2112 a rare one... and a 10oz lunar S2 goat.

Back in 1989 I remember reading the Sunday Times newspaper and in the colourful magazine section was a Royal Mint advert for the special 500^th Anniversary of the Sovereign set.  At the time there was no way I could afford even the half sovereign (I think the half sovereign’s initial cost was about £79).  The double sovereign’s issue price was about £299, and after over thirty years I have just bought an example of this beautiful coin.  I guess that is what you call the impact of marketing!

You've a fantastic memory! Here's the price list from the Royal Mint Coin Club for Autumn 1989 and the price was £299.95

Today I received my very first NGC PF70 silver coin. Boy oh boy, what s difference it makes, looking at one in the flesh, so to speak.

Received a large bill from NGC today meaning my (40!)coins are back in the UK so should be with me shortly... for now, a few from the current results;

This is a strange one, minted in 1977 (hence in my collection) but due to Ethiopia using a different calendar than us means their year is 1969, NGC kindly agreed to add the 1977 date for me after I pointed out the date confusion, so it shows both now (yay!) - The reverse is a great Lion design so shown here;

This coin was purchased on here, shipped from the states to the uk, shipped back to the states for grading and then shipped back to the uk so can give it -1 point off the grade for just being jet-lagged

Thank you for sight of this price list.  I've got to admit that I did have to search out the prices!  Apart from the Sunday Times advert, all I could remember was that at the time I could not afford any of the coins in the 500th Anniversary of the Sovereign set.

This is a beautiful coin, I didn't know you could get it in proof too. The proof shows the design detail much better. I have the bullion version.
