I'm pretty happy with the condition. Not mint but hoping AU.

As I reveiwed the video I see that actually sixpence and 1/2 sovs are different in the text going around. How frequent were there fakes, like gold plated sixpence, back in the day?

I saw someone pay £130 for a gold-plated 1887 sixpence only two weeks ago.  It happens all the time... it's not difficult to see the difference so my sympathy is somewhat limited.

And yes, a very nice example that you've got yourself there.  Might hit Mint State.

Very nice, interesting to see it next to the Sixpence. Congratulations on the acquisition.

It's a bit tricky to tell, but the obverse looks really good and I think the reverse generally hold up well on those from what I've heard. I got an AU58 the other day from someone on the forum and to be honest I couldn't see any wear, it takes a much more experienced eye than mine. I am a total newb though

Will you get it graded, or just take it as it is?

Graded...since I have other coins to grade. It is safer in a slab
