Greetings All, Later this month, I’ll be making a short visit to Palo Alto, California (USA) and wanted to ask if anyone on the forum could kindly recommend a couple of good local coin shops in that specific area? My free time (outside of work commitments) will sadly be limited on this occasion, so I won't be able to venture much further afield than this, unfortunately. Main items of interest include the following: -Silver Morgan Dollars and Peace Dollars (up to BU standard) -Pre-1965 90% Silver Half Dollars from any era -Californian State Gold Rush era coins -Pre-1933 U.S. fractional gold coins Any suggestions very much appreciated. Thank you in advance. NeutronJack
Hello Community, I am a very softspoken person by nature so I will keep this short. I am very new to coin & bullion collecting for investment purposes as well as the mental stimulation it offers. To date I have only been any in these types of persuits for a year. My hope and purpose for joining this forum is to be around like minded individuals who have wisdom to share and hopefully a little will trickle into my think skull. I will likely be very quiet for awhile until I get a good understanding on how discussions work here and I gain some proficiency in using the archival forum. I find it good form to navigate the landscape first. My ultimate goal is be an active member through mutual discovery, purchasing, selling and dialogue. Thank you.
Greetings to All, I will shortly be visiting the USA on business (spending time in Las Vegas and LA) and thought I might pick up the first few American coins to add to my hitherto UK-centred silver stack. With that in mind, I'd very much welcome any advice or recommendations that fellow members of the The Silver Forum might be able to offer regarding ... a) What would be the best coin store(s) to visit in each city? b) Any particular stand-out American silver coins it might be worth targeting? For the record, I'm not planning to 'fill my boots' on this occasion (... unless things go extraordinarily well at the casino!), but rather pick up a few representative examples of modern American silver bullion. Thanks very much in advance. NeutronJack
