  1. I am currently compiling a new order from my supplier for the very popular Aztec calendar coins. 5oz and 2oz copper always fly out so plenty of them. 5oz silver also always hot. Silver spot however has jumped up more than 10% since last order and this means 5oz will land at about £149 whereas previously I've been able to sell at £130 so quite a jump. Just a post to enquire whether there would be interest in 2oz silver at £60 and 5oz silver at £149? Jot your no-obligation (but honestly, would buy one at that price) interest here.
  2. I'm a newbie though I have plenty of history in coins and generally in trading. My eBay username is solidgoldcharmer and harks back to the times when gold charms were my interest. I'm sure it also speaks of my 'bona fides'. I look at coins and take a view of the weight of the lot... the bullion value. When I compare the 'newly minted weight (NMW)' with the actual weight (AW)? How much value does this have in determining the coins condition, where there is no visible damage. E.G. I have ten George v half crowns with a total NMW of 141.4 g and an AW of 140.03 g. That's 99.03% of the NMW. Is this a good indicator? Or on the opposing side would only 137.5 g (97.24%) be a red flag? Where would we draw the lines? Weight, unlike grading scales, is not subjective. I would love some input
  3. I am looking to offload a few duplicate pieces from my collection. These are mainly 1oz coins and a 1oz bar. How would I go about setting a price for these items? Any advice or tips, other than scrolling these threads looking to see what others are selling at?
  4. The forum rules includes the following: I have noticed a few listings recently in breach of this. As well as some listings getting around the rules listed about by using excessive punctuation instead e.g. "!!!!" or ***TEXT*** The issue with this, is that one member adds additional CAPITAL LETTERS, emojis, punctuation etc to grab extra unfair attention and soon some other members start doing the same but increase the amount of capital letters, emojis, punctuation etc in the titles, until the trade section eventually just ends up as one horrible mess and it becomes hard for buyers (include yourself reading this) to easily navigate through the items for sale on the forum. This rule purely exists to keep the trade section a tidy place and functional for everyone. Therefore I kindly ask that you follow the following: Follow the above quoted forum rules on emojis and capital letters Choose Capitalised case if you want to make your text stand out; e.g. "Like This" rather than all uppercase "LIKE THIS" Limit punctuation such as asterisks to a maximum of 2 asterisks (one either side) e.g. *Like This* inside of ********Like This******** NOT inline with forum etiquette: 1OZ AMERICAN SILVER EAGLE ****PRICE LOWERED**** INCLUDES COA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Good use of title in line with forum etiquette: 1oz American Silver Eagle *Price Lowered* includes COA 🇺🇸 In some situations a word all in all upper case is perfectly OK, such examples mainly include abbreviations E.g. UK (as it is an abbreviation of United Kingdom) or COA as it is an abbreviation of Certificate of Authenticity. In general I would say to try to only use all uppercase for a word if it is an abbreviation of a word, otherwise use standard sentence case, or first letter of each word capitalised, e.g. Like this, or, Like This. Many thanks to the members who follow this and help to keep the TSF trade section a pleasant and easy place to browse. In August 2021 there were 625 trade listings started in the precious metals trade sections on the forum. Many thanks for these members who choose to buy and sell on The Silver Forum and once again thank you to those who help support TSF grow with Premium Membership.
  5. The Silver Forum is built on trust and integrity. Whilst we believe that members should utilise the trading feedback system and TSF itself should not intervene in members trading between each other. On this occasion we have decided that it is better for the community to close this member's account. Members who wish to list items for auction please understand the risks of doing so, please see this topic here on hidden reserves not being allowed, which is linked to in the QuickStart Guide to trading, and suggests to list an auction at a minimum starting price you are willing to accept. Or, what is more recommended; simply list your trade listing as a ‘for sale’ with your asking price. You have more flexibility when listing a ‘for sale’ listing opposed to an auction, in a ‘for sale’ listing you can set your price and invite offers and then always reduce your price if there was no interest at your original asking price. Any item that is listed as an auction, the seller should uphold their word and sell at the final auction price to the applicable winning bidder. It is also not possible to list an auction on TSF if you have listed your items elsewhere. Please complete any outstanding trades with @ali187 before 24th June 2021 (so by the end of 23rd June 2021 UK forum server time), when their account will then subsequently be closed.
