Ooh a lovely Kook indeed, this must be my month! B)

@ChrisSIlver there used to be a lovely thread where members congratulated the winner after they were announced, but since the forum changes I haven't seen one, or the result actually being announced, I've just stumbled upon the fact the winner had been decided. Am I missing something (most probably!)?

Also there was a question last month about how the draws are actually made which I don't think was answered. I'm sure you have a completely fair method, it would just be interesting to know :)

Cheers and good luck to all!

@kimchi The prize draws are drawn automatically, a member is randomly selected by the system at the close of the raffle.

Unfortunately it isn't possible to integrate an automatic announcement at this time, although that might change in the future. For now please use the comments section in raffles (here) to congratulate members.

Thanks @ChrisSIlver! I think the question was about 'which system' is used, but I guess you mean it's part of the forum software perhaps?

I thought before the upgrade you or another admin or mod used to announce the result on the thread, which led to all the congratulatory posts, and is something I loved. It really was a lovely part about being a Premium Member (quite apart from the listings and entering the raffle in the first place!) - the taking part and all the camaraderie, wishing the winner well (albeit with jealous glances perhaps :P). I think it'd be nice if there's some sort of message announcing the winner from one of the team here, and then the congratulations posts would flood in. At the moment some sort of system picks a winner and then (if you're like me!) you realise at some point in the month that you don't know who won, and go in to see a pretty dead thread.

Tldr: please find a way if you can to bring back the good old thread with an announced winner and then all the congratulations - which could be as simple as announcing the winner! :)

Perhaps we can try to make an announcement topic in the premium members club, perhaps to keep things simple just a general pinned topic to congratulate the winners and the same topic is used for each month's prize draw? Or maybe we can try to make an announcement for each prize draw after it ends.

I understand what you mean as I was thinking the same before, there should be more of a public announcement.

In regards to the system, I meant the forum software itself, everything is automatic from taking a ticket to the winner being chosen. There is no human pat involved with choosing a winner, which is why it is the fairest way to randomly choose the winner.
