If it helps I copy/paste the sales thread title into the PM message header. That way I can have a look at my PMs and copy/paste the header into the feedback form. The only thing that buggers that up is if the sales title is changed in the meantime.

Arganto reacted to Lyrinn in Lyrinn's 2023 End of Year Bazaar (Package deal added)
    Good evening TSF,

It's the end of 2023, and, after much cogitating (which I did say on some of the threads I'd leave for 2024 Lyrinn to worry about, but hey here we all are), I have come to the conclusion that I'll sell part of my stack.
I can get to the post-office from 3rd January (Wednesday), so, can start shipping out if/when payments clear. UK and NI only - sorry.
    BT only.
First come; first serve. If I see a PM before I see a reply to this topic, it will get preference and vice-versa.
Please note that the 2022 Succubus coin is not included in the listings - I just like using her to show that the items are authentic and in my possession.
More pictures can be supplied at request.
Note: Everything sold as bullion to avoid any disappointment. No refunds.

    FAQ:
Is this everything? Yes, you have no idea how much internal fighting this has been within my head.
What's the real reason that you're selling? As per other TSF threads, I want things like my Student Debt gone. I have enjoyed paying the interest on it for over a decade now and I am one of the lucky ones who will pay theirs off (interest is currently at 6.25% for Plan 1 UK student loans - much higher than my mortgage).
So, you're not in any rush? Not really, no. If nothing sells, so be it.
Darn, I was hoping to put in a lower offer. Humph!
So, I would like free postage. No.
Please free postage? We can discuss things if you buy all of the items above in one hit.
Bit of a wait until you can post on 3rd January though? I'm known for being a bit OCD with sending photos on every step of the process to people who buy from me (i.e., one before I wrap the items, one before I go to the post office, one when I am at the post office, etc.). I truly detest holding things which others have purchased from me (I view the items as someone else's property - which they technically are - and I want it out of my hands ASAP, because its a liability and I am pretty risk adverse) and it could be the best part of a week before I manage to get to the post office, so, anyone who buys from me is sadly going to get a daily PM with a photo of whatever they have purchased from me until I can ship out on 3rd January 2024. Sorry, no compromise on that one - you will get photos daily of your items.

Oh, so you are looking to buy off a new member? Same, I would risk it if it was less than £100 but if you are only saving yourself a fiver by not going through a dealer then I wouldn't bother.

You are doing the right thing. I see you have posted a few times and getting involved, that's a good start. Perhaps start off with selling a few small items (less than a hundred quid), then build up from there. The forum has been a little less active from when I first joined and was a little easier (I think) to start selling. As for risk of it going wrong? Much the same as Facebook, just a peer to peer transaction, the only issue I have had is with the bank.

Tbh I wouldn't buy from a spanking new member unless they posted first. I would expect this as it's how I started. I've posted when I had no feedback, I've also done it with over 700 feedback to prove it works. I'd still have no problem doing it again tomorrow ( obviously as long as the buyer is an established member) it works and works well. I understand that seller's can be nervous, but it's very easy to check the buyer's feedback for peace of mind.

Arganto reacted to Mox in CALL THE COPS!!!!!!! The Mox Metals New Years Eve Auction...
Ever been in a sticky situation and not known who to call? Well here is the solution, the MOX100, a 100g fine silver bar that will get you help in any emergency, bar number 999.
Made from recycled .999 silver, hallmarked in Birmingham with a CoA and stamped with the Mox Metals makers mark (I is professional you know), all you need to do is have this bar in your pocket at all times and when disaster strikes phone the number on the back of the bar (not including the first 2 digits obviously...).
Auction starts at £1, bidding in whole pounds only please, no messing about with the pennies cos I can't be arsed with it and you will be excluded from participating and, if I can convince him that it has caused me excessive mental harm on a night when I will already have to cope with fighting my way to the bar through vomit, spilt drinks and drunk people who only come out once a year and can't handle their booze, I will be pushing for the maximum penalty, maybe even 5 minutes exile from TSF... (NBS dwellers, you have been warned).
As a bonus this includes FREE 1st Class Signed For postage and will be posted as soon as those nice chaps at Royal Mail get there or I can delay posting until they are a bit more steady on their feet after getting shitfaced all weekend.
Auction ends at midnight on 31st December 2023, its ok, I know you guys have nothing better to do on New Years Eve.
Good luck with the bidding everyone whether you are male, female or have decided you want people to pretend you are a cat/tea spoon/garden gnome etc. There will be no discrimination in my sales threads but I might laugh at you.
(PS. The kitten and puppy are not part of the winnings, pets are not just for Christmas (or New Year) or to be used to flog lumps of shiny metal but @James32 told me you lot would fall for a cute pic and bid a lot higher).
(PPS. Got a bit carried away with the highlighting...)

Arganto reacted to westminstrel in NEW St. George and the Dragon coin with Garter inscription
Sexy new coin but not sure what it really is.

    PROCLAMATION:
    For the obverse impression Our effigy with the inscription “· CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 10 POUNDS ·” and the date of the year,
and for the reverse a depiction of St George, armed, sitting on horseback, attacking a dragon with a sword, and a broken spear upon the ground with the inscription “HONI · SOIT · QUI · MAL · Y · PENSE”. The coin shall have a plain edge and in excuse letters the inscription “DECUS ET TUTAMEN · ANNO REGNI II ·”.’
    https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4503115

    DENOMINATIONS:
    - Gold 5kg, 2kg, 1kg, 5oz, 2oz
    - Silver 1kg, 5oz, 2oz and 10oz piedfort

    MY COMMENTS:
Can’t be a Sovereign because of the specification of the denomination in the coins, their weights, and the variations in metal.
Also not sure if it is part of the Great Engravers series, because William Wyon’s St. George and the Dragon does not have the garter inscription (the circumscription is TREU UND FEST), nor does it have the edge inscription, as far as I know. The Garter design is by Benedetto Pistrucci (more below).
Finally, ANNO REGNI II means the Second Year of the Monarch’s Reign, meaning (to be very literal) September 2023 to August 2024 of King Charles’ reign.
Benedetto Pistrucci’s 1820 £2 pattern Sovereign does have an edge inscription of DECUS ET TUTAMEN • ANNO REGNI LX which was the 60th year of the Reign of King George III in 1820; however to complicate matters, this pattern coin does NOT have the Garter inscription. The 1819/19 Crown by Benedetto Pistrucci does have both the Garter and edge inscriptions.
So, my deduction is perhaps that this coin does after all continue the Great Engravers series (or maybe the Royal Mint finally caught on to my idea and is doing a series of St. George and the Dragon designs!), and they’ve combined the £1 Sovereign’s Garter design with the edge inscription from the £2 Sovereign to come up with a representative sample of Benedetto Pistrucci’s work.
