  1. Did the 2oz gold sell on the Britannia site that was listed for 9k? I can’t find it now
  2. A lot of listings are uk only on the gothic and a big part of the market is overseas. Then combine this with the fact they are 4-5 figure sums for raw with the chance of being impaired, obscure poor pics mostly too and the market reduces even further. Graded ones will set a figure and then more uk buyers will be interested in taking a punt on a raw if there’s enough upside to grade and move on.
  3. Personally I would keep it the rim marks won’t effect the grade and the other parts are minor on the frosting and production based. I would say a chance of a 70, I have had worst 70s. My experience of returns can be long waits at best and refunds at worst although some have managed quick replacements I never have.
  4. The mushrooms and cola bottles could of been the premium range and once you buy a number of lower range dolly mixture and build a relationship up only then you get on then waiting list for the premium sweets.
  5. So when are gothics available in Barry’s wife’s store? Do we get tsf discount?
  6. Tiers for coins and jewellers as authorised dealers no thank you, I’d probably give up collecting at this point. Buy direct and let the market decide what is desirable and premium and what isn’t, the mint can’t in advance.
  7. They even said in the group about a lot of customers are from that group so I imagine most who wanted one had one already if that's the case
  8. I wouldn't read too much into considering so many factors against this example, look at the last gothic reeded that sold for over £20k at heritage
  9. Loads of coins are going low, lots of the raw coins seem to be handled / light marks / nFDC looking at the descriptions which I think may put people off. Combined with a being a new small auction I'm not sure it has built up much of an audience? Having bids shown in advance and a clear view of the premium price added would make it a more user friendly in my opinion. The day before the portrait release is probably tough timing too for modern buyers
  10. Great result, all those desperate flippers did themselves no favours.
  11. I forgot and didn't go on until 9 and get pretty much straight in
  12. To be honest its a bad time for me as I'll be working, I imagine its ideal for dealers and asian markets. Is it? The 3G is at 16.5k and the last one same grade sold for 18.5k last month, so it's close with time to spare.
  13. I find the mocked up renders never look very good on the site, in hand always look much better on all their coins. I went for the 1oz and 1/4 myself.
  14. Just to add I’ve had a great experience using COTR auctions over the last year, the service has been outstanding and any questions thoroughly answered with great advice. While people can in theory bid for each other’s items on auction sites there is also the fact that more often two people really want a certain and and pay above the expected price. There’s been a lot more items going for under expected market value across auctions than over lately and there have been plenty of bargains across the board. These low fee online platform auctions offer a great option for sellers and buyers, I wouldn’t like to be a traditional auction house charging huge premiums as I can only see their market share reducing.
  15. Even if they do win it (surely always a risk) if they have multiples of a coin it potentially pushes up the market value so the risk then becomes worth it for them. There appear to be people happy to admit doing this. There are no doubt times when people just want an item and happy to pay a lot more to win it and in reverse you can get lucky on some bargains in auction.
  16. If you look on your invoice you can see if it was charged. I got a 2oz and 5oz graces graded and although opted for conservation it wasn’t applied and wasn’t charged. They only charge you if conservation takes place.
  17. It runs well the only issue I’ve ever had is when I am trying a last minute bid and the internet connection goes or there’s a delay and I miss my bid so now I just get them in a bit earlier.
  18. 1500 is a good price! The last 6 or so 2oz Silvers on ebay all went 1800+ and 4 of them for 2.2-2.5k. value is a funny thing though as some coins seem to go through phases where ebay is cheaper and auctions are more and vice versa.
  19. This will be interesting especially as the recent prices on eBay seem to have pushed up lately
  20. Best of luck, and don’t be too concerned if it takes months as I had a bond that took 3 months to resolve and in the end after a lot of emails and replacement that was worst I ended up with a refund. At the end of the day they will make sure you at least get your money back so you can’t loose out as such.
  21. The problem is you risk getting a worst one or a refund. I’ve had worst marks achieve 70s and what look like perfect coins get 69s. If it’s a mint imperfection I would leave it myself, my experience of sending back high demand coins has not been great. If the mark is bad it’s a no brainer but in this case I think I would keep it.
  22. The 1oz silver has attracted a bigger % premium but then a lot more are for sale so maybe the gold is only getting started? We could look back and see this as great value. Also the fact a lot of the golds have quality issues will make the gold ones even rarer.
  23. yeah that is the proof, could of got better pics but just on my phone
  24. How does it work do you get 80% off the 13% fee and pay nothing for taking payment? so it works out as 2.6% total?
