Howdy all!
Been getting a few private messages about this so thought I would just make a quick post about schedules for 2024 releases. 
Normally we would have the 1 oz bars ready by about this time of year - and to be fair they are all manufactured but I am going to be releasing them in June. 
The reason for this is I am shifting how I work. 
I am trying to get ALL production for our annual products done in the first half of this year. This allows me more time to focus on the delivery of the projects when they are done. 
Shipping out all the bars to customers takes a lot of time and it often is all consuming. 
So, for now I am working away creating all the forum products for 2024 based on the following scheule:
Silver Forum Products
1 oz forum bars (250 mintage): Release June
100g forum bars (175 mintage): Release Late August
1oz, 3oz and 5oz forum rounds (50, 75 & 25 mintages): Release November
BYB annual products
1 oz BYB bars (100 mintage): Release June
100g BYB Bars (25 mintage): Release Late August

today I bought....
orderded this custom set which was completed yesterday from my friend and very talented canadian artist JP metals. he rarely does gold because of the amount of time it takes to clean down his studio to pour pure gold with no contamination. 1/2oz silver and 1/10 24c gold. seriously outta this world and cant wait for them to arrive

Two more plain old bullion sovereigns from Atkinson's.  Will be here tomorrow though so that's nice.

I will also give Atkinson a thumbs up, I tend to buy a lot of my gold from there.  

It is always worth while having some literature, does not have to be a huge library, would start with Marsh for Sovereigns, and a COIN year book and Spink for an overall view.
Only reason is sometimes you can pick up something that has more Numismatic value, than the bullion price paid.
I would never rush a purchase as you always regret something without having thought it through. I have done this and more than likely 90% of people have.    
This is just something I do, however I have a Bank Account solely for metal, which I transfer monies into , and a cashback Credit Card.
I transfer monies in ,so I never overspend, pay by C Card (when you can, some places it has to be from Current account )pay off total on card, and get cash back at the end of year. 
Long winded however this means covered by C Card, and only it's details are used.
Best thing to do is collect what "you" like.

I've various silver coins here, last lot purchased 2016 and the majority have issues with them. 
There have been numerous posts recently relating to quality control issues from certain mints also, and a 57% premium on any bullion silver here in the UK is a bit much for me.  
Each to their own and all.  That's just my opinion on the matter 🙂

I have to agree, the milk spotting, high premium and of course the tax forced me out of silver.

I would personally get a full sovereign every 1.5-2 months. It’s 7.32g of fine gold and about £325 currently, also CGT exempt. You could go for 1/4 ounces too which is about 7.775g fine gold and around £373 atm. 
 
It’s better to go for full sovereigns as the premium will be lower per coin compared to other fractional. So more of your money goes into gold instead of the premium. Also sovereigns are the most liquid coins and you can almost instantly sell them anywhere. 
 
Silver you could invest in if you really like silver. However it needs a massive jump to even slightly cover premiums and vat, unless you manage to get pre 47 coinage at spot. You can still sell your silver at £25-30 depending on quality tbh but milk spots may take away the premium. 
 
I love silver and still buy the occasional coins I like, but personally my time of buying tubes after tubes is long gone. A lot of my stack was bought at £14.5-16 an ounce from the eu. The current silver rates need a steep jump to break even, so I’d only invest in it if you really like it or believe that spot will go way higher. 
 
Edit: forgot to add, these are my opinions and you should make an informed decision based on what you think is best for you. 

Sovereigns are 22 carat, which means 11 parts pure gold and 1 part another alloy, typically copper and/or silver. Pre 1957 Sovereigns used copper and a small part of silver, resulting in a yellow colour. From 1957 onwards the Royal mint used copper only (cheaper) resulting in a "rose" colour. See attached

I haven't bought silver for at least 2 years now as I got deep into crypto (what am I still doing on a silver forum aha!) but even before that i'd switched into gold because of the milk spotting issues. The thought of paying that huge premium for the 1 Kg silver QB completer and losing it all due to spotting a few years later grrrr..
I'm getting the urge to buy again though, I think it would have to be junk silver at spot and below for me now.
 

Gold is the only thing I will be adding from now on, likely just bog standard Sovereign coins too at that lol

the new security feature on the brits makes no odds to me what so ever.
speaking as a stacker not a collector, gold is gold end of.  I buy whatever is available at the lowest premium when and where  I want to buy gold.
 personally I like the design of the modern Brits over Modern Sovereigns but for me it always comes down to what I can buy cheapest and that tends not be new Brits.

Im out of the silver stacking business and only stacking gold. Its the future...!!
Not sure platinum has a real role for stacking either.

£1,500 isn’t a huge amount mate and it’s probably wise to keep that as a cash emergency fund. Even I’ve had to cash in the odd gold coin for an emergency cash flow need.
Why not just start investing in one full sovereign each month? Start saving in gold rather than cash but keep your £1,500 just in case next months salary doesn’t come in when expected etc.

Bit of a cheat as I've just been given these by a family member.  Turkish coins, equivalent of our qtr sovereigns I believe.  
Anyone know anything about these?

I received a good old bullion Britannia.  Atkinson taking around two weeks to deliver.  Placed an order for another on the 11th so should be here by month end.
That is also the first time I have used the super macro function on my phone camera.  Next one I get I will see just how close in I can get the picture.
