  1. Ah I understand now, that's an interesting topic. I hadn't considered that before. Thank you both for the information, this will definitely help a few decisions in the future. Cheers.
  2. Do mean to have like a 80/20 ratio for example? Also would you base the ratio on weight or value? I:E 80oz of gold / 20oz of silver Or £8,000 of gold / £2,000 of silver Cheers
  3. Hi Thank you very much for your advice, i hadn't considered European dealers. I will definitely look into this, Also the point about not buying for convenience makes sense, my strategy is the long game (retirement/leaving something for my kids). So European dealers coupled with saving it back for the next 1oz gold britannia is probably a better strategy. Thank both for your advice, this is a helpful forum 👍 Cheers.
  4. Hi This is my first post and was wondering if I could ask for some advice. Basically when I buy a 1oz gold britannia I normally buy some 1oz silver britannia's to round it up to the next £100 I:E If I buy a 1oz gold britannia for £1210 I will buy £90 worth of silver to round it up to £1300 My question is, is it worth me buying 2x 1g gold bars for £90 rather than 4 oz's of silver for £90? I know fractional gold brings higher premiums but silver brings added VAT that i can't recover. So I'm wondering is it worth buying a gold bar rather than 2 oz's of silver as they cost relatively the same. Also are 1 gram bars as easy to liquidate as silver britannia's? I hope I have explained this well, any advice/guidance from you all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
