Take them to the small claims court. You can start a case online immediately though the .gov website here:
https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money
That'll put a fire underneath them as you have a lot of evidence that they'll have trouble disputing.
They will have to respond/attend court or face CCJs and all kinds of legal hassles.
Plus you can claim your expenses back off them too, and you get to enjoy the satisfaction of putting them through the wringer.

I'm sure they will start again when the new 2023 bullion sovereign comes out. They only ever sell the current years coin.

https://www.bleyerbullion.co.uk/shop/gold/3g-gold-chinese-panda-2023/ bleyer have the new 3g 2023 panda at £178.75, a significantly lower price than BBP, and about £8 less than chards due to postage
This year's design is great, and the 3g pandas have a diameter of 18mm, so they're a pretty nice size compared to 1/10th ounce coins.

silvernewbie reacted to CANV in How to save/pay of mortgage/ pension ect ect
if you are in your thirties paying into a pension is exactly the right thing to do. especially from a tax point of view. stock markets have always outperformed holding cash over time ..
having debt 2.59 per cent is not free money. its better than that! its paying you 7.5 per cent a year . its also against an asset that in ten years time will probably be worth 30 per cent more than it is now.
holding cash will cost you ten per cent this year and at least 5 next year. maybe more
intrest rates won't get above 4 per cent with current debt loadings in the UK if you want to be debt free for peace of mind thats great. good for you.
its not a sensible position for someone in their 30's working and owning property in high inflation low interest rate environment

I know it is not in stock, but the OP was asking about prices, not where he could buy one.
I could have given you a link to:
https://www.chards.co.uk/2022-platinum-britannia-one-ounce-bullion-coin/15941
We do have these in stock, but premiums are generally higher on coins, which are slightly more expensive to make, and only the British Royal Mint can strike UK coins. Anyone can make platinum bars. Coins are also generally more desirable, and are easier to sell.
These are also "new" coins, not secondary market ones which would normally be cheaper.
There are 58 listings on the site for platinum coins or bars. Some are in stock, some are sold out. We leave these live for information and other reasons.
I suspect that if I had sent the coin link, you would have said "but that's a coin, I was asking about a bar"!

Platinum prices are an unpredictable thing not necessarily following a trend.
Not so long ago the average premium over spot was around 20% but even the Royal Mint is quoting some one ounce Pt at around 11% over spot.
When platinum spot drops it seems as if premiums rise and vice versa.
Then there is the dreaded 20% VAT which you cannot avoid paying from dealers and the Royal Mint.
Personally I think £1,050 for this bar is likely to be a tad too high but test the market.
eBay has been offering sellers once again their £1 max selling fees so that would be worth considering, but you might have to list at a much lower price to attract interest and then run the risk of not selling at close to your target price.
Many people are holding on to their cash because of inflation etc. and those who can still afford to stack are looking for bargains and I don't believe £1,050 is a bargain. Others may disagree of course.

To put OPs premium into perspective if buying in bulk and taking delivery of one Comex contract of 50 oz you would be looking at £50310 inc VAT plus handling >£1006 toz
With that in mind £1050 is a very fair retail price for 1oz bar, however the market is pretty thin and it would certainly struggle on here. eBay would be a better option if you wait for reduced sellers fees. Dealers will probably offer 95-97% spot.
I don't think it would last long on eBay at £1050 if listed correctly.

silvernewbie reacted to James32 in 1oz Platinum bar price?
A general rule of thumb for platinum coins is spot plus 20% ( anything under that is a good price)
Bars especially uncarded will attract less unfortunately.
I'd imagine £950-£970 might be an OK price, no guarantee though as britannias recently struggled at spot + 14% on here.
@ArgentSmith might have a better idea?

silvernewbie reacted to Stacktastic in Predictions for 2022
My prediction is that people will actually start dying and they will be brainwashed in to blaming the people that did not take the vaccine (ie the ones who are perfectly healthy). 😛
The women trader one is interesting, I think we shall start seeing stuff like that more often now as people get more and more distrustful of governments & the media.
Bit like the 70's (black, women's lib, vietnam, anarchy in the UK) over the next decade.
I like to think that people will be more loving, compassionate & kind to thier fellow humans. Its going in the right direction if you helicopter out a few hundred years!

They wil examine all packages from the UK. So be ready for the importcharges plus tax. They charge me every time I import gold sovereigns and it takes ages to get my import tax refunded. In case of silver you have to pay importcharges and tax though. The dutch customs are relentless. Royal Mail wil hand over they package to dutch mail and they won't insure PM's. You can take the risk (I done that many times) But your best bet is to go with a courier imo. Read the fine print on their T&C's though many exclude PM's. I even was sent gold from abroad (within the EU) by a courier and on examining the package at customs they sent the package straight back to the sender and charging him for the cost because they wouldn't carry PM's.

From what i know the VAT on silver in the Netherlands is 21%.
Since 1st July 2021 there have been a lot of changes in cross border VAT into and within the EU. You need to do a lot of checking.
Now i see on the Dutch website it says
"Tax levied on imported goods
All goods including silver imported from outside the EU come under the Dutch governments sales tax law. However, as long as the goods are not traded, the 21% VAT tax will not be levied."

-
silvernewbie reacted to BackyardBullion in Posting Silver to Netherlands
The most you can insure with Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed is £250.
As to VAT imports, it is dependant on each EU country but from my best guess (not formal advice) the receiver would be required to pay import charges.
When you dispatch it you will need to fill out a export document and for values over £270 you will need to will need to fill out a CN23 form: https://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/CN23.pdf
