  1. Quite right buddy, I took a third decimal place off because I thought $20.233 looked odd, sorry wasn't trying to cheat! I was just entering for the fun of it as I haven't traded with you yet so couldn't have won anyway Good luck everyone!
  2. After the last few years we've got to have something to look forward to
  3. I would phone them all and ask what the best 'package' they can put together for you, and also what they recommend as best value for CGT-free.
  4. I probably wouldn't risk it again on RM suff, but I bought a few Completers and was nicely surprised that they look almost perfect, worth grading (if there's value uplift, haven't checked) in fact. On the other hand I got some Kook 1/10th anniversary BUNCS and they all missed the same speck of frosting (noticeable without magnification) so obviously it was the die - an odd one from the usually outstanding Perth Mint! I mentioned it to the dealer and they pulled the old 'it's just bullion'. That was their genuine misunderstanding and I'd haggled for a discount, so I wasn't too bothered, and strangely (again) a lot of that issue had problems. The same dealer once excitedly emailed me that a SotD sov was a proof, not realising the difference beween PL/DPL and PF! A really nice person to deal with so I did try to teach them but they wouldn't listen!
  5. Yep, they are cracking! I was in touch with them too, I found them to be particularly clueless and unhelpful (basically as they wouldn't/couldn't export they didn't give a toss, as they were only meant to be for the Indian market).
  6. If they're the same price as Brits, and you are buying anyway, can't really go too far wrong
  7. Alas this series has been produced to the very lowest possible bullion standard (terrible scratching and milking) that I think it would be very unlikely to find a good example
  8. Why bother to remove milk spots (that will come back anyway) from bullion? You are only introducing micro scratch marks from the eraser/rubber by doing so (and more surface contaminants). Some coins will spot regardless of the best of conditions, some might not spot at all unless kept badly. You are absolutely right, with known (and expected) spotting examples, if you store them right you are giving them the best chance to remain spot free until you wish to sell
  9. Strange little 'gap' at the top where the field doesn't quite meet the rim (looks a bit 'messy' on the reverse)- any ideas?
  10. My late father's former union organised and paid for legal action against his employer due to the life-threatening condition he developed due to their working conditions. He would have been pretty powerless otherwise (I'd actually previously engaged another legal firm for him myself who wrongly said his case was hopeless and told us we couldn't proceed). That said, at the top level the union bosses are all part of the sham 'game' with government. It was all orchestrated in the 70s and 80s to de-power the working men (force a crisis that only affected the people - not the fat cats - and close the coal mines etc). Exactly the same is happening now (except the unions are even more of a puppet, thanks to Blair and successors taking Maggie's baton) . Unless you think that nurses strikes etc at a time when elderly folk are being told they can't heat and eat is a coincidence - all because of Putin, climate change, and post-covid supply issues, of course Basically the unions are just another player in the grander scheme of things, but (the way they make them so, otherwise no-one would join) as an individual they can be priceless.
  11. The less of these that sell the better, I would say these should do well (once any QC problems have been sorted out)
  12. You cheeky get! I put a post up on one thread saying I am a rasta (expecting some banter back!) but I think people took it seriously I can't afford booze these days, it's dearer than eggs
  13. I hope you're having a great holiday Lawrence! Quite possibly I am mistaken, but I can let you know when you get back
  14. From left to right it looks like St George is trying to reign the horse back a bit, fails, and then, when it finally does stop, cracks his nut into the back of he 'orses 'ead
  15. I shall have to think about that for a moment...it could be rather too pedantic, even for our forum's own @LawrenceChard! OK...I have thought about it enough in that split-second - it's definitely not! 🤣 When is our favourite budgie-smuggling skier due back? I would like to ask him about his company's page (article/guide) saying that dealers pay The Royal Mint 3% of spot for gold bullion coins. I am willing to offer him a lot more, so easy profit for him and a great deal for me!!!
  16. It's just a good thing they have such a perfect record with frosting...
  17. Thanks buddy! I probably won't be selling purely because I've never sold a coin in my life, I'm too lazy 🤣 Also, I have five so it makes it a tidy number. But, never say never, I might need the cash
  18. Wow, that's crazy Any link to mintages since the first in 2020?
