  1. £37k+ worth of gold sold within 4 hours BOOM
  2. I will champion this so long and hard on my YouTube channel if they cancel this series. I will be demanding refunds on all my pieces already purchased and anything less than a full refund or recommencement of the series will be unacceptable.
  3. Reached out to my account manager again, still no news or commitment either way as to when/if things will come out. Just to clarify the above - my AM replied saying they don't know rather than no anser at all.
  4. Milking is perhaps my next crusade. Right now we are just focusing on the historic coins pricing.
  5. Hmm, if this is correct I shall be throwing some toys out of the pram

  7. Fraud is a criminal offence as defined by the Fraud Act 2006. Most commonly it occurs when a person or organisation dishonestly makes a false representation in order to gain for themselves or cause loss to another.
  8. Yes, this is why I think it is very unlikely they sold 498 of these sets in the last 3 weeks when they sold only 1 in the last 12 months.
  9. Well, maybe some progress. 3 weeks ago I did a video showing this set and we did our little "view source" trick to see how many were available, the quantity was 498 Today I see this set is "no longer available" Whether this has anything to do with what we are addressing on Wednesday I don't know - but I am sure as heck gonna ask The Royal Mint about it!
  10. Yeah, amazing deal. I would buy if I had the spare powder. Good luck with the sale!
  11. Oof, great price! Is that what they are going for these days?

  13. @Silverman2U @cjbcomm I think it is important to draw a distiction between proofs and historic coins which is what this thread is primarily about. Proof coins are expensive, would I like to see them cheaper, sure why not. Can you buy them on the second hand market cheaper, yeah sometimes. Historic coins however - these have a different feel to them on The Royal Mint's website. It feels like they have sourced them cheap and then slapped a massive price on to simply profiteer from people that don't know better. That's part of why I am inititiating this "investigation" and getting some feedback from the mint. I don't begrudge any company trying to make a profit. Taking a historic coin, checking it, authenticating it and then presenting it in a information sleave/box - sure thats fine and you can charge a premium for this for customers peace of mind. There is a market for this kind of product. What I have a problem with is that The Royal Mint will use their reputation and branding to make people think a coin is valued at a certain level just because they say so. Flagship of the world silver, 6x bulloin (poor condition if you see the photos) for £82.50 per oz is just a blatent rip off. £270 for a completely worn victoria young head crown...total rip off. Price those at £40 per oz and £120 per crown then I would have no problem. They are still expensive but they are not extotinate.
  14. Yep, set the expectation low and you minimize the amount of disappointment
  15. This screenshot is taken from a Instagram video the royal mint published about the making of some George Michael coins. Can you spot the giant frosting break on his forehead and to my eyes the background of the coin is a little hazy. How can they not even get a promo video right?

  17. Most post office workers are good, but there are definitely some bad eggs out there. I was in a post office that is not my usual one and an older gentleman went up before me to the counter. He had a small, thin jiffy bag to post. He asked to send it by the cheapest method possible. The post office worker then asked, "For security reasons I need to know what is inside". To which he replied, "A charm bracelet for my granddaughter". The post office worker jumped on this opportunity to say, "You will have to send it special delivery as it is jewellery, that will be £7.65 please" The old man looked a bit taken aback and then started rummaging around in his pockets for the cash. I heard him say, "the bracelet only cost me £3 at a charity shop". I really wanted to step forward and say something, but I decided not to make a fuss. Maybe I should have done. This is not the first time I have seen this behaviour and it really makes me quite sad. The people that don't push back don't know any better and just get taken advantage of unfortunately.
  18. Well, I now have a time and date for a zoom call. Next week. I'm expecting to be told I am wrong and that there are no problems. Will be interesting
  19. They are stunning coins, awesome to see them!
