SeverinDigsSovereigns got a reaction from ZiggySawdust in Newbie with some questions
    1) there isn't a consensus that prices will tumble. There will most likely be rate cuts coming which drive up commodities, and there might be wars hither and thither which also drive up prices. In any case, consensus on an online forum should not form your investment strategy, but I do think it's a good idea to regularly buy physical gold at a rate you could afford to.
    2) 1oz at £1600 ish might be too large a sum for many people. We always recommend smaller units because they're easier to liquidate. If you're in the UK you will also benefit from CGT exemption of UK legal tender coins. A small and received UK legal tender gold is the sovereign (post 1837), and that's where most people start their journeys.
Edit: sovereigns dated before 1982 have a silky lustrous look and are easier to shift in my opinion. Sovereigns dated between 1918 and 1932, and 1957-1982, tend to exist in very good condition and are visually attractive. From a stacker's perspective this shouldn't matter, but there are some conditionally aware stackers, and so it might help resale if your sovereigns are in good condition. Alternatively, try Victoria shield sovereigns (1838-1887, but practically 1842-1884) which sell well regardless of condition.

I was looking for a Wyon's rejected China medal, then I realised I couldn't afford it.

What they can do is making Lion & Eagle proof and Britannia & Liberty bullion. Who knows... And like many coin designs these days, the theme may sound all good and the actual design underwhelming. Lion & Eagle didn't look too bad actually, and I might want to buy one when it's released.

The ermine mantle is actually quite before Napoleon. The Bourbon French coat of arms (full achievement) had a blue mantle with pavilion, and many other European nobilities. But it's pretty non-standard in England. I actually prefer this to supporters. Although I'm aware there are CoAs with supporters inside the mantle I find those quite crunchy...

Restrike MTTs. Some show plenty of circulation, some are proof-ish, and the edge inscriotions are all over the place

Not my coins but came across these when I did a bit of research on the 1902. These coins are notoriously vulnerable and typically receive very low grades. This is why these are so extraordinary.
I first saw the £1 sold by Jon Blyth, he sells some very top grade coins (not sure if he uses this forum but I need to credit him). I tried the submission number and found the rest of the set. The £5  received a 67 at NGC. The highest PCGS graded was 66, and then there are only 64. £1 at 68, and anything else is 66 or below.
Felt I ought to share these because the 1902 matt sovereigns aren't discussed much. Their mintages are much higher than any other large sovereigns (at 8000), but so few exist in such pristine condition.

I've never thought CNN was an organisation with integrity. They don't really have a consistent set of principles.
Does that justify St. Putin's invasion? And you have problems with American military bases which they use to invade murderous regimes? It is a question of side for you after all, because you don't really have a consistent set of principles either.
Again, Putin can get out of Ukraine now if he withdraws his troops. Better still, he can resign as Russian president to get out of whatever mess he has created. But I guess he would not dare it as ex-dictators without power don't tend to do very well afterwards.
It's such a waste of time. I placed you in my ignore list. Wear it like a badge.

Is that forename "The" and last name "Occupier", with "Current" a middle name, or is "The" a new honorific we are coerced into using now?

A 1953 circulation set (not sure if original or assembled, I have the proof set already), and some well-circulated cuties. There is an 1817 (lucky) and a lacquered 1887.
I had to clean the cuties. I know some would despair at removing their historical character, like century-old skin oil and saliva, coal, diesel, petrol, and someone's Christmas pudding. The second I put them in hot water it was all yellow and smelt like the London underground (especially the Northern line)
Hopefully they will re-tone in my cupboard.

Whataboutism at its best. The typical propagandist tactic saying all the bad things USA had done (yes, they may well have), then conveniently forget to give China a mention. When China is being criticised conveniently bring up the Americans.  Propagandists typically omit certain aspects of the full picture to highlight their desired "fact".
Always easier to manipulate minds by keeping info out than feeding it in.

Fact 1: India was not a country per se. It was a collection of princely states loosely ruled under a foreign ruler.
Fact 2: Before British came they were ruled by the Muslims (Mughal Empire). The last native ruler was quite a long time ago. Any (anti-west) Indian nationalist will tell you the same.

The Belt and Road thing is a backdoor for rich CCP officials to launder money, because it bypassed the strict FX restrictions.
It also ensnared the recipients in debts they can't repay and China can seize their infrastructure.
China had invaded Korea, India, Vietnam, supported the murderous Khmer Rouge
China still systematically supresses civil liberties of its own citizens. China still persecutes Christians, Muslims, and other religious groups. China still culturally erases the Uyghurs, Mongols, etc, etc.
If China is anything of a role model to you, you have serious problems.

That's about all of my silver... a little over 100oz. And it's safe to say that I have more silver than gold (by weight) at this stage.
Next I'll add bullion silver from other countries. Thinking about the silver maples and phils, and some numismatics for sure.

All this climate change is has been forcing the polar bears habitat to shrink and reducing their hunting grounds. This has resulted in them not being able to catch enough to eat. Has anyone wondered why they don't eat penguins. A mate of mine tells me it's because they can't get the wrappers off but think they are just fussy and don't like chocolate.
