  1. Are you guys watching the hertiage modern showcase auctionhttps://live.ha.com/live.zx?saleNo=61262&sessionNo=1&puDone=1#?, doesn't look that good ah... Which stage of the bubble do you guys think we are about to enter?
  2. I don't know its so weird because the images for the thick holders on their website has the prones, and the gold 2oz that had the thick holders had prongs too.. So did 2oz silver coins from other mints... I will post it here if I hear anything.
  3. Regarding grading the 2oz silver gothics, another very weird thing that I have observed is sometimes for 2oz silver coins NGC does not put the coins in edge view holders, instead the coin just sits in a circular cutout, for example all the great engravers 2oz silver that I have seen are like that. Does anyone know what is the determining factor here, I tried getting an answer from NGC but still haven't heard.
  4. Oh yea, too add to the NGC BS. When I submitted my coins to them two days ago, I just found out that they are out of scartch resistant holders, even the services that normal come with scartch resistant holders with no extra charge would not have them and would be the same price!!! However, I did some digging, appearntly, there was a email sent last november or something saying that the holders would not be back in stock for six to nine months. However, I did some digging to make myself feel a better, appearntly if the scartch resistant holders were scartched it would be very difficult to take the scartches out soooo...
  5. PCGS too?? Oh god, were there post on here about this perviously, as this is the very first time I have heard about this as well, I am just wondering how prevlant this could be. Given the context of the email, 17 coins from that submitter??!!!
  6. Wait, do you mind if I ask if this is the same submitter that you have used? Could it possibly be something they have done?
  7. Just stumbled across this video on youtube, today has been terrible for me. I hope at least my coins would be smooth sailing.
  8. Was this email sent by a submitter to their customer who had the mark on their coin? What ended up happening to thoes coins do you know, as you mentioned eariler RM and NGC refused to take responsbilities?
  9. Jesus... Neither of them are taking responsibilities? I submitted mine directly to NGC London office, so I would have no submitter to go to if that happens to my 2oz.... Keep us posted.
  10. Jesus, I am scared. If I had known that this could have happened, I would have photographed my coins before hand just incase. Please keep us posted, I just sent mine 2oz set for grading, so hopefully it will all be fine! Did you have the pictures NGC took, or perhaps the photo vision photo, do they have the black marks as well?
  11. Me too.... Apparently the last batch might be ready to be dispatched next friday. So hopefully they will get here before april lol!
  12. Yea, I am super OCD, and I was almost able to get the FR label for all my platinum jubilee coins.. But I guess not anymore, I just hope I will have my monarch coins back in time for the label for them.
  13. Yea I am pretty pissed at RM for that as well, with their horribly quality/ packaing I have had four coins with capsule open arrived last month and after sending them back, they still haven't sent my replace coins and it has been almost two weeks!!! And I am still waiting for my 2oz gold portait and 5oz Platinum Jubilee lol... This monday was the first release label cut off for the SOTD I believe,so I definitely missed that as the coin I recieved was a catastrophe and had to be sent back. Though I have been told that FR label doesn't really matter, and I don't buy coins to resale but I always grade them as most of the RM capsules are terrible, and I would like my them to have FR labels. Although I don't buy coins to resale but I like it when my coins carry a higer premium, @FlorinCollector do you know if FR actual do that to coins as I was told here it doesn't matter but when I look at auction results it is hard to find any modern coin without a FR label and if there is one that comes up it typically go for 15% less or so...
  14. Actually found the video for the only watch auction 2021.
  15. Insane is the most fitting word for some of these watch auctions...!Things like the paul newman daytona happens quite often, just the price might not go as high as the paul newman, but the verocity of the bids and how fast the price jumps is insane. Actually quite funny, just like the RM, there seems to be a huge up take in interest for ultra modern watches in the past seven years or so... So some of the prices are somewhat inflated such as how this tudor black bay one of one sold for 650k CHF without premium added!! https://www.christies.com/lot/lot-6330405?ldp_breadcrumb=back&intObjectID=6330405&from=salessummary&lid=1 But regardless of that, the watch auctions are still quite crazy. The "only watch" auction I was referring to is a charity auction that takes place routinely every two years, where all the major houses donate a one of one unique watch to the auction. Some of the watches are true one off unique master pieces some are just the same watch with slightly different colourations... It is probably the one of hottest auction in the watch world, I did not know what I was thinking when I went into the auction with 15k CHF and was hoping to get a pretty niche watch that I happen to love(I actually have a regualr verision of the same watch lol). As soon as the auction started I knew I stood no chance... Lot one, a watch I thought no one cared for went from the estimate 70k to 600k in 30 seconds and reached 800k in a minute or so.... My lot went from the estimate 10k to 130k in a minute or so.... Oh and unlike how christie normally do, they did not open the bid at half the low estimate which would be around 6k, they opened it at 50k!! Then I realised that the pandemic definitely had no effect on the wallets of the super rich... PS: all prices are in CHF, and I just rewatched the Paul newman auction, honestly the atomsphere there doesn't seem to be as insane as onlywatch as price moved quite slowly... Only watch had 52 lots, if someone would like to attempt what paddle 2555 did today they need about 30 million CHF, I surely hope they don't collect sovereigns... Or we would not stand a chance at all...
  16. Thanks for pointing this out, I am not that familar with auctions, so it is a great learning opportunity for me! The only other auction that I have followed closely was the only watch auctions...
  17. Just mainly the fact 2555 bought a lot of very similar coins, like all the sovereigns in all strikes and in all sizes... It's probably just me being cynical though.
  18. The una and lion did not sell either, and from just a rough estimate I think bidder 2555 bought at least 70% of the lots and spent well over 150k on this auction, this seems so shady to me, just saying...
  19. Yep, unless 2555 is a secret code for something else I wonder if it could be hertiage? As the 1kg queen's beast did not sell, if RM was bidding as 2555 they will definitely bid on it to generate the impression of lots of interest even in crazy expensive coins?
  20. I wonder how much of the toppy pricing can be attributed to bidder 2555, given the fact that he is the one seemingly bidding up everything which is a bit alarming...
  21. It would be very interesting to watch the sovereign rarities ides of march auction as it have a die trial piece from the last auction.(Don't forget that die trial piece should be subjective to CGT as well I think) https://auctions.sovr.co.uk/index.php?option=com_timed_auction&view=lot_detail&low_estimate=STRING&high_estimate=STRING&keyword=&exclude_keyword=&sort_by=lot_number&image_filter=0&box_filter=0&paper_filter=0&export_issue=0&arr=0&auction_id=0&list_type=list_view&lots_per_page=18&page_no=0&lot_id=753970&search_type=&year=&month=&department_id=&cat_id=&view_from=wishlist Anyone watching the auction right now, seemingly Bidder 2555 is buying up all the coins and bidding very aggressivly!
  22. I was thinking about biding on the SOTD sovereign, it was sitting at 800 for two weeks then last night it went 1600 with one extra bit, two hours ago it was still at 16, now it is at 4200!!! one bid later!! Well I am somewhat happy to see that the market for modern RM proofs seems to be on the up again, but definitely not biding on anything today as they are way out of my league now...
  23. Perfect, I am just considering if I should send my coins in for grading next week!
  24. Yep I checked the source code eariler it was two as well, however there are still 41 of the monarch 2oz gold and 11 of the monarch 1oz gold as of two hours ago, and through out the weekend from thursday actually I think they only sold 2 2oz gold because no one noticed I guess. But I just feel like this is a very very dangerous slippery slope of having a big super hyped up release and by artificially limiting the stock and have the coin sale out in a pinch then to slowly release the remaining coins covertly later on, I just can't see how this can be good for anyone, it seems to be undermining for RM's reputation and will likely make a lot of people mad(the people who got it for rrp for all the stress and 9am queue and obviously people who paid double or triple for paying that price after they thought it sold out lol)
  25. What the heck is going at the royal mint, first is a secrect release of a whole bunch of monarch series coins, still a dozen gold 1 and 2oz avaliable. Now just looking on the website I found this being avaliable again. https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/events/the-queens-platinum-jubilee/the-platinum-jubilee-of-her-majesty-the-queen-2022-5-silver-proof-piedfort-coin/
