I have only one Gold 1/10th Kook and it is a 2020, so I was interested in this thread.  Does anyone know what they are worth as at Dec 22?  It seems there are not that many on the market.

About six years ago I was tasked with buying £10k worth of gold on behalf of a family member.  Back then you could buy new 1 oz coins from a dealer for about £1000 delivered.  I chose seven 1oz coins and a 100g Metalor cast bar.
The seven coins I chose were basically a World gold collection for countries the family member had been to, plus 3 UK coins including their Lunar year of birth.  I chose:
Buffalo (this is my favourite non-UK modern 1oz bullion gold coin)
Maple
Kangaroo
Philharmoniker
Britannia
QB Griffin (this was the current release at the time of purchase - in hindsight, this was a good decision)
Lunar Rooster
 
My own favourite 1oz Bullion coins (all UK) are:
QB Lion, Dragon and Completer
Royal Arms
2018 Oriental Border Britannia
Two Dragons.
When and if the RM release the Gold Standard in 1oz bullion, that one will be added to this list.  I love that design in 1/4 oz 🙂
 

The completer is a lovely coin but I think the idea is a coin series rather than 1 offs?
How about this for a rarely seen coin:

I like Britannias, Queen's Beasts and Tudor's Beasts as well.

Yeah, in ten years time I will look back and think, my first tudor beast was only £1578...
Problem being, spot will be sitting at £1259 😆 

Or just buy the best value over spot on day you buy, like here today an Aussie 1oz gold swan montage of 5000. 
Buy that if it's on offer, it's great value, it great percent over spot, it's limited, it's got potential for some little wiggle room for an extra frew pints in years to come 
But using this strategy exclusively on buying day, you may end up top heavy with krugs and sovs 

Seems very niche market tbh. £200 if you wanted to sell it in a few days.

I still think it's weird that they're releasing any coins of the Queen dated 2023 to be honest.
Decency and good taste should have seen any that were struck melted back down. But I guess I'm just old fashioned.

Today I received my first Monarchs coin back from NGC and I am so happy with it.  It will be a long and slow journey to collect the whole set, but if they all look as good as this one when graded, in a tactile chunky slab, I will be overjoyed.

Finally got the 2019 Britannia (thanks @GSTrading!). Now have all 3 oriental border Britannia’s 

Today I received this neat little piece of history for my LMU collection.
The coin is an 1860 Napoleon III 10 Franc in well circulated condition. Not remarkable in any way in and of itself. But like an enormous amount of Napoleon III circulating coinage, this piece has been defaced. In this case the word SEDAN has been counterstamped - a satyrical reference to the French defeat (and Napoleon IIIs capture) at the battle of Sedan, which would ultimately lead to France's defeat in the Franco-Prussian war.
These satyrical coins are a genre all to themselves. Some of them went far beyond simple "vandalism", and become essentially works of art in their own right. Fascinating little piece of coin history!
