  1. These two are interesting. Not heard of these designs before. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4594822 https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4594812
  2. https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4594826 Here's the proclamation, so it looks alike they are doing this one in all sizes - round ounces and 7-sided 50ps.
  3. There was a proclamation published yesterday: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4594824 (a) a depiction of James Bond driving a hovercraft set against a background of James Bond titles with the inscription “007”; or (b) a depiction of the snow plane from the film Spectre set against a background of James Bond titles with the inscription “007”.
  4. Anny J made the decision after seeing today's gold prices maybe.
  5. Wow! Quite big news. According to their last annual report: "Overseas deliveries of coins and blanks amounted to 1.34 billion pieces in 28 countries." https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-13301069/Royal-Mint-stop-making-overseas-coins-700-years.html
  6. Well that's just rude of them considering I placed my order first! 😆
  7. If the intention was to hide the cert number, be aware that the barcode also contains that number and needs to be redacted too.
  8. Same. I'm still waiting for a couple of the exciting never-released-to-the-public coins, so I hope they haven't lost them!
  9. I thought the title of this thread was a bit of a giveaway too 🤣
  10. It's not silver, but it's the same colour... I'm sure this Trial of the Pyx coin is cheaper than the original coin was? https://www.royalmint.com/shop/ancient-historic/trial-of-the-pyx/her-majesty-queen-elizabeth-ii-2022-uk-50p-platinum-proof-coin-6e0176be/
  11. Hi all, I'm after a handful of impaired silver proof UK definitive coins, i.e. condition doesn't matter as long as they're sterling silver, but ideally the price would be a lot closer to spot than if they were perfect. Anything that is a 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 or £2 UK definitive would tick the box, although commemorative versions of those denominations would also be fine if cheap enough. Looking for 10+ coins ideally. -or- A single gold or platinum impaired proof definitive. Let me know what's up for grabs!
  12. Seems a reasonable price for the original version of the bar https://atkinsonsbullion.com/silver/silver-bars/10oz-silver-bars/pre-owned-the-royal-mint-una-and-the-lion-10oz-silver-bar Sold out now
  13. Ooh, it will be a 50p depicting allied soldiers disembarking a landing craft, with the inscription "D-DAY 6 JUNE 1944 UTAH OMAHA GOLD JUNO SWORD".
  14. https://www.royalmint.com/shop/military/register-your-interest/ "The coins we strike have passed through and paid tribute to historic moments of conflict for more than a millennium. Sign up for our upcoming releases that capture stories and mark significant events in military history, beginning with a coin commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day."
  15. Yes, thanks for mocking what was actually a quite frightening experience.
  16. Well that's very promising then! I wish my instance had gone like that 🤣 I actually filmed the entire process of my return, including packaging, travelling, and handing it over to the post office in a single take, so there could be no dispute that I had returned the item I received.
  17. Getting a refund from eBay was practically automatic in the end, without needing a video, so I had no worries on that front. The only concerns I had that warranted police involvement were the things the seller subsequently said and did. I also would have preferred to get the coin I'd actually ordered (they sent me a 2015 instead of a 2005) but in their mind they'd sent me the right one so that was far from being an option.
  18. Well it's clearly a different coin, and from what you've said I don't think you have anything to worry about really. When something similar happened to me a while back (the seller sent me the wrong coin, and I also had a video thankfully!), the seller immediately started acting VERY strange and ended up earning himself a visit from the police for harassment and malicious communications.
  19. Suggesting that something bought back then has a modern cost equivalent based on how much gold it would have cost at the time only works if that something is actually gold. In terms of actual money...
  20. They still have a face value of £1 today. Comparing that against the value of the metal they're made of is nonsensical.
  21. I don't think it works like that!
  22. Such opportunity here. 1. baby oil 2. feathers 3. pay per view 4. ... 5. profit?!
  23. 2024 Royal Arms coming soon. https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/uk-coin-ranges/the-royal-arms/royal-arms-2024-register-your-interest/ The gold 1oz coins are usually limited to 5,000 coins worldwide.
